My kids have their shoes on all the time in the house. It's all up to the parents on how they see it. I don't like having to take my toddlers shoes on and off every 20 minutes when they descide to run in and out. I think it's a pain. For God sakes it's only a floor which can be cleaned. It's the children you think of whatever makes them happy. If you yourself don't like to wear shoes in the house than don't.

During the winter I make my children were their socks shoes are optional. I have hardwood floors and their feet get cold. Now when they were starting to walk i kept shoes on them all the time because I could not get them to leave them on when we were out or at daycare. If they took there shoes off at daycare the teachrs did not wory about putting them back on and there socks would turn black. So once they learned to keep shoes on at daycare and while we were out they became optional at home.

none of us wear shoes in the house unless we are walking out the door. i keep socks on my 3 year old so his feet don't get cold but he can take them off if he wants too.

i know it helps toddlers learning to walk to have shoes on for foot support. maybe that is why your friend does it? if it bothers you, why not ask her?

i don't keep shoes on my son all the time, however if we go out sometimes, i don't take them off right away when we get home, and when he first started being able to walk i would put shoes on him while he was in the house, i did it so he could learn to walk with his shoes on and it made it easier when he was outside places and had to have his shoes on... once he had it down really good i stopped keeping them on him at the house all the time though and only leave them on sometimes, but i don't put them on for no reason anymore

I have no clue. I never put shoes on my daughter in the house, however, when it's cold, I put socks on her. She's almost 3 and as soon as she gets to anyone's house, she takes off her shoes.

I let my daughter wear shoes and socks in the house, she is 15 months old. And I have found that it helps her walk, and its good support for her feet.

She has indoor sneakers and outdoor sneakers. Also She has a pair of slippers, that have soles sort of like sneakers.

My stepson's mom keeps shoes on her kids all the time. She is on probation so it could be so she can round them up and leave at a moment's notice. It also might have something to do with their shoes disappearing if they aren't on their feet. She even gets upset with them if they take them off.

i have hardwood floors, and they can get pretty dusty/dirty very quickly. keeping their sock & shoes (though non-slip slippers would be more comfy, i'd think) on would keep their feet from getting cold & gross, and prevent slips (that could occur with just socks).
i always wear sock & shoes or slippers in my house

I do because my son (17 months old) LOVES to wear his shoes!! He wants them on all day and if he could all night! He is the only one in the house with shoes on but he doesn't care.
