Yes, it is. If it's not mealtime & you're hungry, wait ten minutes, & drink a full glass of water. It may trick your brain into thinking that you're full, thus you won't eat when you're not hungry or when it's not mealtime.

It is possible to tell yourself you are tricking yourself, but you know your not. So drink several glasses of water before a meal, when you feel full stop. the secret is not to eat between meals once you start doing this.

Some of the people who answer your question are right. Drinking water before and during the meal is a good way. Also I'd recommend to take fiber before the main meal. Smaller plates to serve smaller portions.
1 banana or 1 apple with the fiber and 1 glass of water before the main meal works wonders.

No, I don't think it is. It's like trying to trick yourself into thinking you are thin when you are actually fat. Just look into the mirror and it all becomes real, unfortunately.

The glass of water thing works as well as stop eating the first time you sigh while eating. That usually means you are full, but most people continue on.

Make it a habit to keep water handy. Water gives you stomach the feeling of being full. So, if you want a snack, water can ease that urge...flavored waters help if you have a sweet craving.

Also, don't eat out as much. The portions you get at restuarants are definitely larger than a single meal should be.

It's been proven that if you eat with fat people you will eat less. Sit next to the fattest person at the buffet, lol
