Well, I'm just wondering why it seems that Jews are kind of the pre-religion to christianity. "Jesus" was supposedly a Jew, they even called him the king of the jews. If i'm not mistaken, I think every story in the bible has jews in it. So why aren't christians jewish? Jesus Christ, was king of the jews, and christians follow jesus's teachings. I know that jews and christians have different beliefs, and the bible says that it was the jews that condemned jesus to the cross. Well why don't the christians think that the jews that did condemn him to the cross were under the influence of satan? I mean, it's the perfect ignorant excuse they use for everything else, like the inquisition and such. So why do christians treat jews like they are christian underlings? (They believe that only christianity is the right religion, and anyone that doesnt believe this will burn in hell, yet christians work so hard to protect the jews just so the jewish people can go on and burn in hell after death.)

Even if Judaism was strictly a race and not a religion, it wouldn't matter. The bible still says king of the jews, and christians still treat jews like underlings. If you have a discrepency with the word jew being a race and a religion, and jesus being king of them, then go try to talk to your god about it dude. He's the one that supposedly said it in the bible. (true word of god.)

Do the Jews still remain god's chosen people though? Because like you said, the jews rebuked jesus. And according to most christians, the only way to be saved and go to heaven is a belief and faith in jesus christ, so wtf is up with that? It's just really confusing to me.

Jews did NOT call Jesus a king.
The New Testament has the Romans mocking him as "king of the Jews" because the prophecy of the Davidic Messiah is of an annointed King of Israel who will break the religious and political persecution of Jews first and then of all nations ( and Rome at that time was the primary offender of that ) so any messiah hopeful they killed would of course have been seen as someone threatening them directly..only Romans would have been threatened by any messiah hopeful.
Many others lived during the time when Rome ruled in Judea. One had a far greater following and was in fact a real annointed King of Israel..Simeon Bar Kochba. But he ALSO failed to fulfill prophecy and was abandoned as a hopeful..as Jesus and dozens of others had previously been abandoned.
Jesus is the only one of the many messiah hopefuls who had a religion build up around him, though.
Shalom
EDIT: I don't know why I didn't just stick with my first gut impulse when I read this "Why are Jews at the center of the christian religion?"
Answer: A Jew is their deity, that's why.

Yes, Jesus was Jewish. Christianity came about long after the death of Jesus. What they did was start with Judaism and remove the aspects they didn't like (Hanukkah, the rest of the 613 laws, Saturday worship, etc). Then, they threw in a bit of Paganism (Christmas and Easter, and "Sun"day worship for example). They called this new religion Christianity, after Christ.
Christians are taught that when Jesus died, the remaining 603 laws were done away with or that they were "given to the Jews, not the Christians". Many Christians also believe that because Jesus died for their sins, they will be forgiven no matter what. If that's the case, why bother with the threat of hell? Some people say that Christians adopted Paganistic traditions because it made the Pagans of the time more willing to convert.
As for the girl who says that the one God is Jehovah, YHVH does not mean Jehovah. It is the abbreviation for the Hebrew meaning Yahweh.
I hope my little rant answered your question, if not I am terribly sorry for wasting your time.
Yes, the Jews are still God's chosen people. Most Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah and that is why they denied him. If that's true, they can get into Heaven without believing in Christ. According to the Jewish Bible, 12,000 people from each of the 12 tribes (Jewish) will be chosen at the Second coming to live eternally.

Christians and Jews share the Old Testament part of the Bible. The Old Testament is basically the Torah. We share the same stories, Adam and Eve, Noah's ark, Abraham, Moses, and other prophets.
The New Testament, where Jesus comes in is recognized only by Christians, not Jews. The Jews believe in a Messiah, but he hasn't come yet. There are many fake Messiah's of the modern world though.
Most Christians love Israel because it is the place where Jesus lived during his time on earth. We also pray for peace in Israel because we believe that it is the Holy Land and the Jews there are God's people too. We pray for their eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. There are many Messianic Jews who have accepted that Christ is the Messiah today.
In the Bible, Jesus came first for the Jews then the Gentiles. Many Jews followed him, but the Gentiles (who became Christians) believed in him even more. The Jews had the Law and the priests of the synagogues to proclaim that Jesus was a fake. The Gentiles (Christians) took off with it and the faith spread.
Many secular Jews dislike the Christian stand on Israel. They think we are fanatics. If we are, then so be it.

Do you mean there are contradictions in Christian teachings? My goodness!
Christianity began as a Jewish sect, following the teachings of a rabbi named Yoshua bar Yosef. He advocated major changes in Jewish practice, attacked the existing religious establishment, stood up for the lower classes, and was, ultimately, executed as a dangerous subversive. This made him unpopular among the Judean upper class, and his followers were persecuted, not by "the Jews," but by the Jewish establishment and their Roman overlords.
His followers argued as to whether his teachings were relevant only to Jews or to Gentiles as well. Largely due to St. Paul, the pro-Gentile faction won out, and Christianity began to evolve into a whole different religion. The belief grew that Judaism, although the precursor of Christianity, was incomplete and defective. Anne Coulter recently said as much. Jews stubbornly refuse to accept that Jesus, as the Greeks called him, was the promised messiah prophesied in the Hebrew scripture. Martin Luther believed that, once he had cleansed Christianity of the false doctrines of Catholicism, Jews would see the truth and convert. When they didn't he was furious and wrote several vicious anti-semtic tracts.

The Jewish were the desendants of the Israelites. I could be wrong here but they became known collectively as Jews after Israel was split into two kingdoms. The northern kingdom fell quickly into false worship and was destroyed and carried off by the Assyrians. The southern part was known as Judah hence the name. Jesus was born of Jewish decent, but in essence he was an offence to the their leaders of the time. They pushed a barrow similar to the Roman Catholics of our time ie salvation is obtained by the works that you do. Jesus on the other hand offered forgiveness of sins through belief in him confirming his power with great works in front of thousands.
We can say what we like, but is there another character in human history who changed the world with so little in such a short time.. I can't think of any.

They are the prophets and the scribes of the Bible and Christ is a Jew. Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus is a Jew. They believe that Christ the Messiah is still to come. They refuse to believe that Jesus is the Messiah and God. But they will look upon Him and those even that pierced Him and mourn for Christ as they would mourn for an only child. Jesus says that He will not return until they say, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."

Christianity started as a Jewish cult under the leadership of James the Just.
Christianity hated and killed Jews throughout the ages.
The Jews actually fought alongside the Muslim Arabs in defence of the holy land, at the time of the crusade.
The eating of pork, by christians, was introduced to identify Jews and Muslims so they could be killed.
After the WWII and the clearing of Jews from Europe, it has been policy (of guilt) to protect them in a piece of land well out of the way. That being Palestine..!!

Jesus Christ is the Messiah promised to the Jews according to Christianity. He is also a Jew. The Jewish leaders rejected Christ and turned him over for his persecution and death by crucifixion. Jesus is both the basis for Christianity and He is a Jew. That would put the one particular Jew and the history of the Israelites preceding him smack in the midst of Christian teachings.
Jews are not "underlings", but they failed to accept the promised Messiah. They remain God's CHOSEN people.

My friend there is no reason to be confused about Jesus christ or the Jewish people. All the prophets follow the same religion; of Abraham. The same message of one God is given by all prophets including Jesus christ, who was known as a Jew. he followed the law of Prophet Moses and came to affirm it. Youcan learn more at www.islam-guide.com or www.calltoislam,.com
As Muslims we affirm Jesus as a prophet and his miracle birth. He is not the son of God, he is a prophet.See www.quran.nu for more. Waseem
