I went to this local place in Cincinnati, and the owner did my tattoo. He not only overcharged me, but it looks absolutely TERRIBLE. It was supposed to be a yellow lily, but there's absolutely no detail that it looks like a banana. I later found out that because it owns it (and over charges more so then other shops) that he doesn't care about the work that he does. I know that sounds terrible, but it's true. Does any one else think that I should have to right to ask someone else at the shop to touch it up? I already got over charged by thirty dollars, and I would tip the other artist. I just don't think it's right that I should have to go back to him or pay full price (overcharged full price). Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
Don't be rude. I like tattoos.
Clearly they're permanent.
Don't date judge me.
And keep your answers realistic.

This is also my third tattoo and I got it in memory of my grandpa.

Here's the picture.

Also, any tips on what I can ask them to do would be awesome. I'm thinking of making it purple and blue and just canceling out the yellow entirely.

Also, it was a city over. My cousin recommended him. Later I found out that was only because he was a friend and needed money.

Okay, people don't understand.
I just called and they said that I have to go to the same guy or I'll get charged another hundred dollars. I don't have money. I'm moving to Florida from Ohio on Saturday. Clearly I should have thought of this before. :/

since you got a bad tattoo from the shop DO NOT go back there under any circumstances. find an artist that is talented and have them fix the tattoo for you. you may have to do a lot of looking, not all cities have a talented artist. the closest one to me that i would personally get tattooed by is three hours away (my artist moved 9 hours away)

also, if you are moving DO NOT go back to that hack of an artist. obviously you weren't happy the first time around, do you think you will be happy after getting touched up? you won't. just wait until you move and save up some money.
if you need help finding an artist email me and i'd be happy to help.

as far as being "overcharged" how can you calculate that you were overcharged by $30? how did you come up with that figure? my artist charges by the hour so whatever i pay i pay for the time that he has given me and nothing more and that is the way that most custom artists charge.

MOST places won't charge you for a touch up. If they DO charge, it's not much. But only if the tattoo was originally done there. Some places might even comp a cover up for you if they really butchered it.

Personally- I would call in and see if that same guy is working there and just Try your best to go in on his day off and get someone else to do it! Or talk to the guy that did it (over the phone so he's not as likely to remember you) and talk to him about it. Tell him your disappointed with the way it turned out.

But- you also have to consider- if you went there and got a crappy tattoo, do you really want to go back? obviously thier standards are a bit on the low side. It might be worth the money to pay to get it covered or touched up at a more reputable shop

ALSO- wait until it's healed completely! it might end up looking different once the scabs are gone, ya never know!

just looked at the pic- my god! It DOES look like a banana! Does it look alot different than the picture you gave him?

I would not have left with a horrible looking tatoo! There is no way that he could have given you trouble with someone fixing the tatoo if you would have said something right when you gotten it. But now that you left if you go back it does not seem fair for the artist that fixes it to have to do the work for free and you are probably going to have to pay! Sorry :(

Go to a different tattoo parlor and ask for some advice on how to make your tattoo look better. Customers should always be the number one priority at any business. Sorry that you had such bad luck! :(

I think that you should not have to pay again. He did the tatoo horrible and that is a life time perminet thing on your body now. I think that they should refund you and give a big *** apology.

every tattoo shop (almost every) gives you 3 months to go back and do touch-ups for free. go back and be like i need you to add more detail here and here and they should do it for free.

i think that you should know your artiest before you let him ink you up and if he messed up the first time do you really want to go back to him?
