This guy I previously dated keeps texting me random little messages. It didnt start until I moved on and now have a new boyfriend. But the weird part is that he also has a new girl. Why does he keep doing this? Is he trying to make sure I dont forget about him?

No, he was just trying to show you that he has plenty of loads. Whoa! I'm just kidding. Let me say something that may shock you---this guy can't stand the idea of being the "bad guy," the "heart-breaker"; he can't tolerate the thought of living with guilt. And so even though it appears that he is protecting you from pain, he is really protecting himself.

Whenever I hear this kind of story, I know I am speaking to a bona fide rescuer (this guy), whose identity and self-esteem are tied in with making sure he is never the cause of pain to someone he loved.

You say, his number is screaming on the screen of your cellphone? It certainly means only one thing . . . He was trying to tell you . . . "Hello? You okay? Just trying to keep the communication lines open and be civil to one another, will yah?"

My advice is: Breathe deeply and tell yourself, why in heaven's name I should be bothered by this. Of course, you can't forget him, but it should be coming now from a different direction because you have a new boyfriend, I hope you guys are doing great together. So you can just say . . . "Yes, I remember you but I don't remember the feelings anymore."

Hes a jerk playing mind games forget him! You did the right thing by moving on!! Us women do the same thing...Hes either not satisfied with the new girl that he has and hes just trying to make himself feel better by texting somebody that he knows for a fact once had feelings for him sooo.... good luck

He could be keeping you on the line for a booty call when things don't work out with his new girl. He could not be over you. He could value your friendship and want to keep that going. He could not be happy about the fact that you replaced him, and wants you to think he's such a great guy, etc, etc...

The real question is Do you want him to keep in contact, or do you want him to leave you alone??

He just doing it between picking his nose and scratching himself... the guy truly has nothing better to do than to irritate you. (Some might call him a jerk... can you send "jerk" in text?)
