definitely should.
It does more so to anyone who is or has been outside Christianity but for some reason many Christians act like they are above both kind words and loving gestures. Sad.

Yes. This is the most powerful testimony we have, to back up what we say we believe with how we act.
Even so, I think it is kind of unfair to judge Christianity by the actions of sinners...which we all are...even those who have been saved. Most Christians do not profess that when they became Christians they became perfect. And yet we hear from others..."well, I thought you were a Christian, if so you shouldn't be doing that..." Well, DUH! OF course I'm not supposed to be doing that. I'm not perfect, just forgiven...I do my best, let God do the rest. God ain't finished with me yet. And all those other cliches. They are pretty much the way it is.
Which is why...making a habit of practicing forgiveness and patience (actions that speak very loudly) are such powerful testimony and witness for Christ. I don't forgive because I am really all that good at it, or even because I always want to. I forgive because I am forgiven.
In my life, the action that blows people's mind the most is when I can forgive them...and when I am patient with them...and when I can be kind to them unexpectedly. This almost always is an open door to me telling them about Christ....if they ask. Which they do.

Words are all we see of each other on a forum like this. There have been many times I would love to follow the words of my Lord and actually physically help someone in need. Here, we must be evermindful of our words, because that is how you will know me. Either I bear the fruit of the Spirit, or I am failing.

I would say that this is absolutely true.
That being said, and as you well know, it is absolutely the hardest thing in the world to demonstrate / achieve. Most people in general understand that actions speak louder than words.... they also know that it's often the most difficult thing in the world to put in practice because don't we all just looove to shoot our mouths off?? ;)

The two go hand in hand....because the Word of God is powerful...
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Heb 4)

It holds true for everyone. Talk is cheap; Jesus was about love and justice for the poor and weak in action, not just in theory.

Like I've said before, God should be a verb, but for most people is no more than an adjective.

good one!!!! (btw, i love your avatar--it always makes me grin when i see it)
Paul said that Faith without works is dead. What better way can you "preach the gospel" than to show His love to your fellow man...like feed the hungry (empty stocking fund, y'all--it's christmas!!!)
"what you do to the least of these [men], you have done to Me"--J.C.
