What do you consider sacred?

Cage - I ask this question so that others, like you, would understand a few things about Pagans. What's amusing is that you think all Pagans and Heathens worship "nature" lol

Stephen - I have done that. I was Wiccan from 12 till my early 20's. I was Celtic Recon till a little over a yr ago and now consider myself Asatru. I am asking this question so that OTHERS will come to understand what Pagans and Heathens view as sacred, rather than reading it from some website that may be wrong to begin with. =) Thank you for playing.

The gods. My ancestors. Other stuff that I'm not going to mention here because, well, it's sacred.

Mother Earth, first and foremost. The elements, and every rock and tree and blade of grass and fish and bear and human. Everything is all connected on a very deep level, and one thing cannot be sacred without all being sacred, since the water of one pool that touches the water of another cannot remain separate, and both share each other's purity. Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Spirit.

I am a pantheist; I believe the Divine is manifest in all things. Therefore all things are sacred. However, I find the best connections for myself to the sacred within Nature.

Sacred? My kids, my family, my bloodline. (In my mind, wyrd, luck, honor and orlog is woven into those three things the most) Um, my home, my friends and the world around me. All of the people that I include in my home, my family, and my faith. My faith over all and my gods.
I think most everything I consider important is also included in that list.

Black Goddess: We call ourselves Heathen because it refers to our religion (Asatru) It is interchangeable. It means from the heath and was the term used in Anglo-Saxon refering solely to those of Norse Germanic paganism, so that be us. :)

The self. Will. Family. My ancestors.

The Blade, and the Hammer.

Iorn will.

Life in general. I guess for me the individual is the most sacred thing. It is the thing that I wish to protect the most. and that I get upset the most when people tramp upon it.

they're in actuality a similar ingredient from what I see-- The competition/party of the "Grand Climax of the Spring Equinox" to quote LaVey. i think of of it extra as "Beltaine" (or notwithstanding different spelling is wise) because of the fact it improve into in uncomplicated terms spoke of as "Walpurgisnacht" while it improve into Christianized by ability of the Church of Jehovah. They named the Xian version of the holiday after St. Walpurgis, with the objective to me, it is like calling the iciness Solstice "Christmas"... Utter Sacrelidge to the unique non secular communities that celebrated the holiday. besides, if we permit the hot toddlers on the Block in any experience of the term dictate something approximately us, we finally end up like modern-day usa-- Ridden with obssesion over acceptance and popularity. i might quite be hated for who i'm than enjoyed for who i'm no longer. My rites for that trip are what I percieve to be decently genuine to Paganism, that's the place the form of Satanism that I prepare (classic/Theistic) got here from: i think of of it as a evening to rejoice existence and the existence rigidity. maximum often, there is feasting, sexuality and now and returned even a Sabbat social gathering which is composed of a few non secular Like-Minds/friends (for everybody who could make it that evening, it is). in actuality, I do the flaws that strike a twine in me of my very own needed Existance, my existence rigidity (which continues to be goin' sturdy, by ability of how!), and the present of existence and well being that i've got been given. additionally, if I even have the gap and the flexibility on a given 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, there is mostly a Bonfire held throughout pronounced Sabbat social gathering. protecting the custom of the "Fires of Belanos" alive is a stable ingredient by ability of my standards! Wow, that has to have been the main short answer i've got ever given right here... It did no longer even take 3 Aeons to form out! Ehh, there's a accepted time for each little thing XD Hail devil!!! -Valkyri
