When I open a word document I get this message: "The Office Open XML file MYFILE cannot be opened because there are problems with contents."

Hope you have a back up copy. Once the file is corrupted, you don't have any alternatives. Sorry

Open a new Word document.
click Help
click "Detect and Repair"
Before you do this, get out your CD.
