Anytime she sees a beehive, ants nest, or a leaf with holes in it she freaks out and gets goose bumps. She pretty much goes crazy anytime she sees something with a 'mesh-like' pattern. Is there a name for this or is she completely insane?

I don't know if there's a specific name for it but she is definitely not insane.

Fears and phobias never make sense, even to those who have them. And trust me, I used to have some pretty weird ones.

The thing is to not tease her or criticize her for it. That just makes it worse. Just be there for her and help her overcome her fear in a more positive way.

No, she's not insane. Lots of people have phobias. I have personally known people who have had phobias about driving/riding in a car, balloons popping, and bees.

There are therapies for people with phobias, and she might want to look into some of these. In the meantime, just be supportive of her and don't make fun of her phobia.

She's not insane. She has obviously had a very bad experience with bugs in general. It's called ENTOMOPHOBIA. She needs to find out why she's so scared of these bugs or bug like items. Maybe some therapy will help. Don't minimize her fear or make fun of her, it will only make things worse for her. Talk to her about it and find out why she is so scared of these things.

Hey. She mayve been stung rather badly in this or a past life maybe? You have to understand where shes coming from and dont think shes a nut job. I knew a man who was afraid of BUTTONS on his clothes.

This called "Apiphobia."

It is a "persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of bees." She's not insane, she's just scared of bees.
