If the Catholics believe this so much why aren't they busy in Mexico telling them to remove their wall and all countries though out the world. Why do these statements apply only to America but no where else?Thousands of Catholics from throughout the greater Los Angeles area gathered in East Los Angeles Dec. 2 to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe as the mother of all peoples -- from every language, race and culture.
A mile-long procession, the oldest religious procession in the city honoring Mary, led participants to East Los Angeles College Stadium, where Cardinal Roger M. Mahony and the auxiliary bishops of Los Angeles, numerous priests and more than 15,000 of the faithful gathered for Mass.
The theme this year was "Mother Without Borders: Bringing Down the Walls of Injustice." The event was part of a statewide call to action for comprehensive immigration reform by the California Catholic Conference of Bishops.
"The Virgin of Guadalupe is a symbol of hope and compassion for all who are marginalized," said the cardinal. "Today she continues to unite us as a humble people of God in search for understanding, compassion, peace and human dignity for all -- especially for our immigrant brothers and sisters who are being kept in the margins of society by a broken immigration system.""As those who have faith in Our Lady of Guadalupe I call you to join us today in demanding immigration legislation that allows us to transcend borders and break down the walls of injustice," Bishop Zavala said

This is less about saving souls and doing God's work than it is about filling the pews, passing the collection plate, and hoping that amnesic will take place about the pedophilia priests

No.. they should stuff a sock in it. Further, they should quit paying Catholic Charities to haul illegal aliens to far better places to get a job in the north east. It would also help a great deal if they would use all the influnce they have and ask the Mexican Bishops to stop trying to arrange yet more stop houses for the illegal aliens when they do come north. Finally.. and above all... I would adamently demand they insist the government stop producing the comic books that tell the illegal aliens how to get into the United States over the Arizona Border. They are killing people with that comic book.. they had a hand in making it. PULL IT OFF THE STANDS. Stop killing the illegal aliens who think they can make it over the desert after reading it.

Catholics are busy in almost every country battling for the dignity of all human beings and against injustice.
Most of the millions of people in these ministries just do not get very much publicity.
One example is Caritas Internationalis, confederation of 162 Catholic relief, development and social service organisations working to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed, in over 200 countries and territories.
Caritas works without regard to creed, race, gender, or ethnicity, and is one of the world’s largest humanitarian networks.

There are many such organizations all over the world.
With love in Christ.

The Catholic church has over estimated their influence in America! What do I care about the opinion of a bunch of guys in drag who molest little boys for stimulation. They are the wealthiest establishment in the world so why don't they practice what they preach and feed all of those starving people instead of taking their money? I agree with losing their status of tax exemption if they're gonna play hardball politics. Maybe they should sell a few of those masterpieces that grace the Vatican.

Many in the Catholic Church have lost their way. They denounce the death penalty, hate their own country and let's not even get started on sex scandals! I think they should advocate obeying the law (render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's) and stay out of the immigration debate.

That the primarily Catholic immigration is strengthening the church has nothing to do with his pious attitude, I am sure. However, his actions should have bearing on the tax exempt status of the Catholic church.

When you consider all the pedophile priests and the church's failure to protect its faithful over a 40 year period, you can take this movement with a grain of salt.

Sure and bring your young children so the bishops can sexually molest them, and Paloney can condone it (I wonder why) and bring your cash tax free offerings so that we can compensate all the children that have had their lives ruined by these child molesting catholic bishops.

I think that if government has to stay away from religion, so too should religion stay out of government. You know, the whole "“Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s, and render unto God that which is God’s".
