Exactly....and don't judge Christ or His Word by the imperfections of Christians! Jesus even said to listen to the hypocritical teachers of the law who didn't practice what they preach. Because the Word of God is true, whether spoken by Jesus directly or by a hypocritical Christian!

Unbelievers don't ALWAYS focus on that, but it does come up a lot. All people are hypocrites, it's just far more glaring coming from Christians, especially when they try to legislate their morals that they don't follow. And hypocrisy does not necessarily mean deliberate. That's simple semantics. Imperfection while preaching perfection = hypocrisy.
None of this matters anyway, you're not looking for answers. You're looking for confirmation. That seems slightly hypocritical.....

To all those who accuse Christians of being hypocrites.
Church is a good place for hypocrites, as well as liars and thieves. It is there they will be exposed to the Word of God, and learn that hypocrisy is wrong. For you to judge those in the church is to condemn yourself, because we are all hypocrites in one form or another. Your recognition and condemnation of it tells me you know it is wrong. Is it hypocrisy to point a finger at the church full of sinners when you yourself are one as well?
It has been said that you must be smaller than the thing you hide behind. Are you hiding behind the hypocrisy of others to keep yourself out of church? You must realize that you are responsible for yourself and God won't ask others about you on judgment day. He will come to you and ask you to give an account for your life. The hypocrites in the church will also stand before God, with or without you there.
People don't counterfeit pennies. Why do you think there are hypocrites? Because Christianity is valuable.

We as Christians are supposed to be held to a higher standard. When we fail, as we will ultimately do, it is shown in sharp contrast to the message of Christ Jesus. We are to love one another so much that the whole world will see the difference, but do we? No. Thank God that He is forgiving, through Christ Jesus. So, when we fail, we should acknowledge that failing, make amends when applicable, and go and 'sin no more'. It is our reaction to adversity, to our own shortcomings, to others' shortcomings that should point the way to Christ Jesus. When someone points a finger at Christians in particular, it is because we have not lived up to our part. Just keep on doing the right thing, it's all we can do - shine a light unto the world.

If all of you admitted you are imperfect and at the same time stopped ragging on us for not sharing your belief, we'd be more than happy not to rag on you in turn.
My take is this: You believe in a supernatural being that created all that you see and know. Fine. Now shut up about it; I don't believe and I don't appreciate you telling me I'm no good or that I'm a sinner or that I'm going to hell or that I can't possibly be content until I kneel to your mythological god. If you have every right to believe without interference from me, then I have every right not to believe and not be harassed about it.
Freedom OF religion also means freedom FROM religion!

You know how there are the Christians that make you ashamed of what you believe in? The ones who go around screaming about how everything is an atheist conspiracy to make their kids gay crackwhores? Atheists have those too.
Thing is, the reasonable people on all sides who leave each other alone are at home, being reasonable, leaving each other alone, while the vocal aggressive ones are out there getting media coverage.
However, most atheist attacks are leveled against the gods we don't believe in, and the ones that aren't are usually just someone who's really pissed off and blowing off steam.
I don't believe in your god but I'll leave you alone until you make my life hell by constantly trying to convert me. If I wanted to find Jesus I would start going to church. The little pamphlet is just a waste of paper that's going to be turned into origami ducks.

I do not focus on that. What I focus on is the fact that there is absolutely no evidence (real physical evidence - not just somebody saying its so) for the existance of a god or gods. Thats why I do not believe in god. It has nothing to do with whether or not christians are hypocrites or just plain make mistakes.

Because Christians ALWAYS focus on the imperfections of "unbelievers"?
Personally, I don't focus all that much on Christians at all. I just come here for the entertainment.

One person said it well the other day. She said: ''None is perfect, but many follow ...''
I like what it implies.
Personally, I cannot say that all Christians are hypocrites just because I met a few in my life. That would be as if I said that all Muslims are terrorists just because a few are.
I may be a lot of things, but unfair I refuse to be.

The error is attempting to associate the imperfect followers of the message with deliverer of said message. Just because its followers are humanly incapable of unconditional love of strangers does not make such a goal less noble. God says the more you know your enemy the easier it becomes to love them. Without God's omniscience, it takes a strong effort on humanity's part to accomplish this.
