Okay, so I really need to buy a new laptop, but the problem is all laptops for sale now come with Vista default installed. Now my question is, if I buy a new laptop but change the os to xp, will it harm the computer in any way or cause potential problems in the future? Because I know new hardware is designed for running new software, so I'm afraid if I try and install an older os it may cause problems.

Yahoo Messenger would desire to run on Vista without an subject concerns. i think the project is with the MEssage installation, no longer with Vista. in case you desire to alter to XP, you will would desire to start by ability of procuring a replica of XP. around $a hundred and fifty. Microsoft now no longer makes or sells XP, so good like looking a replica. because of the fact the change from Vista to XP is seen by ability of Microsoft to be a downgrade, the installer won't assist you do this. you may desire to first do away with Vista by ability of deleting the partition that holds it, coming up a sparkling one, and formatting it with NTFS. this would completely wipe all your archives (track, photos, movies, information, stored e-mails, and so on.) and all your put in classes. you will additionally would desire to substantiate that there are XP drivers on your pc till now you communicate the exchange to XP. or you will no longer have audio, good video, community connection, and so on, as quickly as the conversion is finished. it would desire to be much less confusing to element the subject concerns you're having with Messenger and we'd be waiting to assist you already know how you are able to ensure the project. you additionally can desire to objective a unfastened software referred to as Trillium which permits you to get entry to Yahoo Messenger besides as AOL, MSN, and a pair different messengers all on an identical time from a single software. that would desire to assist you apply Yahoo Messenger with no need to place in the easily software.

No problem. You will be very pleased. Lots of folks are doing just that. PC Magazine folks (and there are many who write about it) are very in favor of doing so; I've seen the same on many websites.

Vista is a waste of time in so many ways, I could go into a rant that, you don't have time to read it here, so I'll spare your patience.
