why does everyone else seem to like this drug?

I know it is against the law, and no I don't want to use drugs. I just mean that in the past when I did party, everyone seemed to love this stuff. And it made me feel really weak and afraid every single time I tried it.

Why did it do this to me?

Thanks

For the second answer, the aneixty DOES NOT go away. I tried this drug over and over and over with the same result each and every single time.

I was told it goes away but it never did. This is wrong.

It also made me think a whole lot about how everyone else knew something I didn't. Is an awful thing for me.

Barney once sang a song with the line, "You are special, you're the only one; you're the only one like you!" The reason for this was not to address your issues with pot, but to teach children that everyone is unique. However, your body's unique (and very complex) chemical system isn't doing too well with something that MOST people handle exceedingly well. Before you decide that you and mary jane just don't get along... How are you smoking? Joints or pipes? Try something with a water/filter aspect (bong/bubbler) or a vaporizer. How much are you smoking, and over what time period? The headache is probably either too much weed and/or too little air. You can get an easy headache if you blaze a bit too fast for your own good because you're able to shut off that "breath oxygen" logic. Try going slowly next time. This can also lead to a point where you can learn/observe (get a piece of paper and record the hits/effect if it's really that bad) how much you can deal with over what time. If you're still having troubles, maybe it's time to just take a bit of a break. Lots of people have anxiety/paranoia issues with the drug, despite the praise it receives for helping those who are anxious/depressed. It's all in the chemical reactions, and your body just might not be having the ones you're looking for. Good luck, and hopefully you can find a better way to enjoy your herb. Edit: Obligatory "You're doing it wrong."

I don't know, but I'm the same way about 50% of the time. It depends on my surroundings. But, it seems to have the oppisite effect to me than it does to other people. I think maybe it's a chemical imbalance in the brain. Anxiety runs in my family, so maybe the weed triggars it for whatever reason. But, other times, I feel great and I sit and laugh for hours. It's not worth it, though. My heart would honestly pound SO HARD at times, it HURT SO BAD, that I thought I was going to have a heart attack or something. My friends used to get really worried about me when they felt my heart beeting. Weird, huh? Guess Im not the only one

I smoke it every single day. I know people are going to give me thumbs down just for saying that. I've been smoking it for 4 or 5 years now, and the reason is it make me feel good and helps me relax. but I have never done any other drug because most of them are man made and much more dangerous then pot.....its illegal because the government can't control the flow of it like cigarettes. And cigarettes are much worse then pot....but that's why alot of people like pot, it just helps them to chill out and care less about their worries.

For you, if you don't smoke it at all, it will make you extremly paranoid and could give you anxiety. But thats why is cuz you don't use it all the time.

Its just not for some people, and for some people it is.

Marijuana has different effects with each person, so, even though your friends do it, maybe its not for you. A large amount of the population uses marijuana for medical purposes as well as recreational uses. It tends to increase the release of endorphins to the brain, causing a feeling of euphoria in users, while increasing appetite, lowering blood pressure, and boosting serotonin production which causes the user to feel drowsy. Common side effects are anxiety, elevated pulse, nausea, and shortness of breath. Also, in a small percentage of users, tetrahydrocannabinol (the active ingredient in marijuana, also known as THC) cause mild hallucinations. Many of those hallucinations are so mild, users commonly confuse them with hearing voice (like thinking someone called your name). Overall, if your marijuana use has adverse effects on your life, you should probably stop using. There are no reported deaths due to marijuana, so I can't say it'll kill you...but it definitely isn't beneficial to your mind or body.

I have adverse reactions to it too. Other people use it because it doesn't give them that feeling. It gives them a relaxed feeling, and a sense of well-being.

It is a drug, and just like the drugs sold at the pharmacy... it can have side effects. It seems you system just doesn't like it. Smoking pot gives you side effects. (and no- side effects from medication do not always go away.... sometimes a shift in medication is needed)

Weed effects everyone differently. I don't remember it causing me to be paranoid. Though I did smoke way to much and I probably killed alot of brain cells starting with the ones that effect memory. I started smoking it about 14 years ago and recently quit. Not because I didn't enjoy it, I became a mom and don't think anyone should take care of a child all messed up!

Don't smoke it. Its just like how booze effects people differently ..

I got a friend that has sleep aphnia. He told me its the only way he can go to sleep at nite. He smokes a joint and is out like a light.
Hes about the only person I know that has an actual real medical marijuana use for it. California has like over 400 shops where you can buy "medical marijuana". The doctors waiting rooms are filled with twits that invent all kinds of excuses to convince the doctor that they need it. I seen it on 60 minutes, made me laugh.

You probably had this feeling knowing that it's illegal (not so much illegal today as it was 30 years ago). Just that thought alone can trigger reactions in your brain making one feel weakness and anxiety. Also knowing that drug testing is very much used for job applicants, being on a construction site or other occasions....can trigger this as well. For your mental well being..it's best that you not take part in this activity. Let's just say that marijuana should be used for medicinal purposes and let the doctors figure out who are the best candidates for its use.

Because you puffed puffed and didn't give!
Nah, seriously speaking, it made me that way for the first 10 times I did it. I believe it is your subconscious feeling guilty. There's nothing to feel guilty about. Yeah, it is illegal, but only because it is more profitable for the government that way. Don't smoke so much. Take 2-3 puffs and you should be good. That's all anyone needs, unless you have become a total pothead, then stop for a few months and re-evaluate your intake. Use, but never abuse!
