I never had a puppy that young........my first thought is afraid she swallowed something and its blocking her. But that young without the right momma care...can be she needs different formula for her food.

Give the puppy some time. Most likly it does not drink enough water to get it's ball movements going. So you need to have adequate, fresh water avaiable for her at all times as well as fresh food. Just if nothing happens by tonight, go to the Vet hav it checked. Remember it is in a new enviornment and needs some time to get to know it's way arround. sometimes a little bit of Gaterrade my help. just a few drops not more than that. Good luck. I have a Chihuaha puppy too it's 6 month old now.

Do NOT feed the dog bran or any form of people-food. For that matter, do not feed the puppy even puppy food. She should still be on liquids (you can get puppy formula) at 4 weeks old. At 6 weeks, she can eat solids.
Switch back to a liquid diet of puppy formula immediately. Also? Go see the vet or at the very least CALL your vet - its FREE to call the vet, and they WILL give you advice.

well she's too young to be away from her mother for a start.....if the mother died or for some reason the pup had to be removed for safety that's one thing, but if the pup's previous owners just let the pups go so young they are bad owners/breeders.........
either way because the puppy is so young i'd be getting it vet checked and get advice on how to keep it healthy, it could be constipated from having the wrong foods as it should still be having mums milk and she'll help teach it to go poopie

Gently massage her tummy in a downward motion towards her rear end, do this a few times and she will go- that's why the mom dogs lick the pups so much- not just to keep them clean but to keep their systems running properly because the puppies are too young and peristalsis doesn't occur on it's own just yet.

I am assuming you have gotten formula for this puppy and you are feeding it ever several hours, correct?
The next step is to take a warm. wet wash cloth and gently wipe the pup's rear. This imitates what the mother normally does for the pup.
We raised hound dogs and on occassion, a mother rejected her pups and we did this numerous times.
Good luck to you!

4 wks is a little young to be away fro mtheir mother to begin with. I would call a vet to see waht you can do. Maybe heat to the belly? I don't know. If wiping the warm wash cloth on it's bottom didn't work then you got me.

I think she is just scared, and too nervous to poop. I heard from a pet store owner that hot dogs relax dogs. So if you have some you should see if she'll eat one. But other than that just make her feel as comfortable as possible, and sure enough , out will come the poop.! Hope this was helpful.

Esbilac and Royal Canin baby puppy 33. She will eat this. Yes... that puppy should be with its Mom until atleast 7 preferably 8 weeks of age. And if it was a breeder who sold you that puppy at that age, She should be euthanized.

It could be the adjustment to a new diet - and new envirment plus 4 weeks is a little young to be separated from the mother. Call the vet.
