Just think how bad it would hurt if they didnt use novicane. Would you rather that ? I would think not , take the needle it doesnt hurt that bad.

She most likely does not have Rabies. If you are in the U.S., they are a canine rabies free country, the risk of your dog having rabies is 0 % if it has not been bitten by a wild animal, as those can still have rabies. Your puppy might have Parvo, which is common in puppies. It sounds like your puppy hasn't been to a vet yet. Your puppy needs her vaccines at the appropriate time. Parvo can be deadly very quickly in a puppy. But don't worry about the rabies thing. Get your dog to a vet if she's having diarrhea and is sick and not playful and not eating!

The dentist should be using a topical ointment on the gum where the shot is supposed to be delivered. That way you don't feel the pinch. Breathe deeply (and slowly) in and out to help you feel calmer. Also, be sure to close your eyes as seeing the syringe may make you tense up too much.

Best of luck!

I can assure it as not as painfulas you think. The surgeon should run a numbing gel on the gum first so you won't feel the prick of the needle. Whent he anesthetic is injected you will feel a light stinging sensation which lasts about 5 seconds.

Trust me. I have braces but in order to get them i had to have some teeth pulled. the needle may look scary and you may fear a little, just take some deep breths and close your eyes. 1 2 done. you dont feel a thing.

Understand that it only lasts for a second (the needle pinch) and after that you feel nothing.

You should take better care of your teeth so you won't have to resort to such drastic dentistry. Surprised they aren't doing a root canal to "save' the tooth.

It is best that you face your fears and have it removed or the abcess could make you sick and lead to other medical complications.
