Revelation 4:4-5
And around the throne there were twenty four thrones and upon the thrones twenty four elders sitting clothed in white garments and uon their heads golden crowns
And out of the throne comes forth lightenings and voices and thunders. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne which are the seven Spirits of God.
Very interesting verses eh sister:)
I just wanted to touch briefly on the matter of the number 24
Twenty four is formed by multiplying 12 by 2. Twelve indicates the completion of God's administration.
Matthew 19: 28 shows
And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that you who have followed Me in the restoration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory adn you shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel"
In the old testament David divided both the Priests and the Levites into 24 groups to carry out God's administrative service. Therefore, before they are replaced by the church, teh 24 angelic elders are the ones who carried out God's administration. Today the Church does this. Twelve times Two signifies strengthening by Doubling, indicating sister that the Divine Adminstration carried out by the 24 angelic elders is Strong!
The " elders' here sister are not the elders of the church but the elders of the angels. Because here, before the Lord's second coming they are sitting on thrones already.
Among God's creation the angels are the most ancient ones. Their elders are the elders of the whole creation of God. That they actually sit on thrones with golden crowns on their heads indicate that they must be the ones who rule the universe until the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom, when this authority to rule the earth sister will be GIVEN OVER to the overcoming saints.
Check this out in Revelation 2:26-27
And he who overcomes and he who keeps My works until the end., to him I will give authority over the nations.
And he will shepherd them with an iron rod as vessels of pottery are broken in pieces as I also have received from My Father."
Another verse in Rev 20:4-5
Look at who is sitting on thrones now.
" And I saw thrones and they sat upon them and judgement was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and becauase of the word of God and of those whohad not worshipped the beast nor his image and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand and they lived and REIGNED with Chrsit for a thousand years."
Aren't these verses amazing!
These angelic elders are also clothed in white garments and have a harp and golden bowls full of incense. Sister this indicates that they are also priests before God in the Millennial Kingdom, HOWEVER, the Reigning Overcomers will be the Priests of God and of Christ ( Rev 20:6)
The elders golden crown indicate that they are also ruling ones. Therefore they are priests serving and kings reigning over His Creation.
Touching verse 5 as it speaks of the Seven fold Spirits of God.
The sevenfold Spirit of God is undoubtedly the Spirit of God because They are ranked with the Trinity... the Truine God.
Seven is a number of completion in God's operation. So the seven fold Spirit must be for God's move on the earth.
Sister.. I need to point out here that in essence and existence, God's Spirit is ONE, but In the Intensified function and Work of God's operation , then God's Spirit is SEVENFOLD. Its like the Lampstand in Zech 4:2.... In existence it is ONE lampstand.. but in its function it is 7 Lamps.
Sister.. at the time this book was written.. the church has become degraded. the age was dark. Therefore the sevenfold Intensified Spirit of God was needed for God's MOVE and WORK on the earth. The Spirit of God has seven fold intensified Himself in order to even deal with the degradation of the Church... To intensify us even more as we work for God in His move on the earth today.
Excellent ..thought provoking question sister
Yours in Christ

7 is a number of perfect, representing God. It is possible that God has 7 types of annointings (powers) but have not studied this out. I am not advocating the refusal to read the Bible literal, we should, but when the literal does not make any sense at all (not discussing the refsual to believe, but simply a lack of Biblical relevance) then we should consiser its symbolic value, and since 7 is used by God alot. It very well fits such a category. "About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the Prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition." Sir Isaac Newton 1642-1727 According to Watchman Nee in "Aids to 'Revelation' ", there are about 30 symbols, and half of them are explained within it's own text. Examples include: Lampstands are churches 1:20 Fire, Horns, & Eyes represent the Holy Spirit 4:5 & 5:6 Incense are prayers 8:3-4 The dragon is satan 12:9 Beast is a king 17:12

1) Isaiah 11:2-2 lists the seven parts of the Holy Spirit:
2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
2) The 24 Elders are representatives of the Body of Christ; they are NOT OT saints. Read 1 Chronicles 24:1-19. David divided all of the priests into 24 divisions, so all of them would have an opportunity to serve in the Temple. When each "course" or division served, they represented the entire priesthood. (This is what Luke 1:8-9 is referring to, by the way.) In all likelihood, the 24 Elders are the 12 Apostles plus 12 other men and women chosen by Jesus to represent His Bride in the Heavenly Temple. So ironically enough, the Apostle John was seeing himself in that crowd of 24 Elders.

On a compass, there are considered to be eight directions (north, south, east and west - and then the northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest between them). In the culture of the Bible, if something was said to be "seven-fold", it refered to it being not just in its current location, but also in the other seven directions of the compass. It means that something (or someone) is "everywhere".
When Revelation speaks of the Seven-fold Spirit of God, it is a reference to the Holy Spirit being not only in heaven, but also everywhere else.
The names of the 24 elders are not given. But they represent the two different people in covenant with God. 12 are for the 12 tribes of Israel, and the other 12 for the 12 apsotles of the church. It shows that both Christians and Jews will have a place before the throne of God.

A definition of the seven Spirits of God can be found in Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; John gets to see the Lord Jesus Christ sitting on the throne of His glory. He also sees 24 elders sitting around about the throne, clothed in white and with crowns on their head. These 24 elders are almost impossible to identify but they could be the heads of the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles of Christ. Remember that the Lord promised the 12 apostles that they would set on 12 thrones and judge the 12 tribes of Israel. Matt 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

# Re 1.4
The seven Spirits of God enable the church to be intensely
living, and the seven stars enable her to be intensely shining. To the church in Ephesus, Christ was the One who held the seven stars and walked in the midst of the seven lampstands. The initial church needed the care of Christ, and her leaders needed His keeping grace. To the church in Smyrna, He was the One who became dead and lived again. The suffering church needed the resurrection life of Christ. To the church in Pergamos, Christ was the One who has the sharp two-edged sword. The degraded, worldly church needed His judging and slaying word. To the church in Thyatira, He was the One who has eyes like flaming fire and feet like shining bronze. The apostate church needed His searching and judging. Here, to the church in Sardis, He was the One who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. The dead, reformed church needed the sevenfold intensified Spirit of God and the shining leaders. The sevenfold intensified Spirit is living and can never be replaced by the dead letters of knowledge (2·Cor. 3:6).
