I can sympathize. I had a kitten that did that. She liked to jump on my back when I wasn't looking whether I had clothes on or not. I had the nastiest scratches. I put up with it for about a year then found the nail caps about two weeks before I was going to declaw her. Whew! They didn't stop the scratching but made it much much better. But like you said, your baby is too little for that and the party is Saturday.

You may just have to wear your scratches with pride and explain that your new baby just has a lot of personality and laugh it off. Easier said than done when you look like the victim in a slasher movie. hehe cute dress...have fun.

Use some makeup for your face and neck (though not too much just do what you normally would and ignore the extra scratches that show up) Put on panty hoses to help with your leg scratches, covered toe shoes if you have any there, and a wrap or scarf of sorts for the one on your back. The idea of taking a picture of your kitty is a great one. That way you have a conversation starter along with something fun to talk about at the party. Also realize that you aren't the only one whose looked like they've been dropped into a tree shredder before. Try and keep kitty away from your flesh till after the party then after that give him some lovings so he knows you still luv his little butt even if he can be a stinker. ^_^' Also please don't declaw him, unless you must for medical reasons and such. He'll be more inclined to bite then. Enjoy your party!

I don't know if you're planning to go bare legged or not, but the Sally Hansen airbrush make up for legs is said to cover veins and other imperfections, so it might work in covering up the scratches. See the link below.

If cosmetics don't cover the scratch on your back, perhaps you could take a light weight shawl or pashmina to drape across your shoulders.

Try not to worry too much, lighting at parties tends to be fairly dim and a lot of the scratches might not be noticeable anyway. Once you start enjoying yourself, you'll probably forget all about them.

Hope you have a great time.

I had the same problem with my friends kitten.
It scratched me everywhere. I even have two scars on my foot which he left!
The only advice i can suggest is either wearing a cute wrap or cardi over your dress.
Other than that you could try fake tan or apply abit of powder to your arms to discreet them a little.
I know the scratches aren't very attractive and people do get the wrong idea [self harm] but if anyone brings it up just explain about your little baby and how he play fights and leaves unsightly scratches! Maybe even take a little picture of him/her in your purse so people know you're telling the truth!

Good luck and nice dress!

Whatever you do, for the love of the cat, DON'T have him declawed. I did research for a paper in college. In my research I found that the operation doesn't always end up right. Sometimes the claws grow back deformed and this is painful for the cat. I have two 4 year old cats and one of them still has a hard time controlling her claws, but it's something I have to live with for the love of my cats. Just be patient with him, he's still a baby and doesn't know any better. As for the scratches, well...

Cute dress! Don't know what you can do short of makeup, which might look funny anyway. You should really wear more clothes around the house until the little demon grows up a bit. Never had one do all that damage before and we've had a lot of cats.

Heavy accountability concealer could artwork, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's no longer good to place makeup on broken pores and skin. you will only worsen the floor. you should only permit it heal by using itself. meanwhile positioned on a headband or turtleneck. in case you have long hair, go away it down draped over your shoulders so it ought to conceal a number of it. yet truly that's no longer that embarrassing to have a scratch on your neck. that's in comparison to a cat scratch sounds like a hickey lol. go away it on my own and it will go away in some days.

i love the dress!! i think the best thing to do is just to not worry about the scratches and laugh it off and explain the new kitty situation if anybody points them out or appears to be noticing them. they will look sort of strange, but it's pretty obvious that they're cat scratches since you don't have any bruises or other types of wounds/injuries.

I'm a guy, and privately, I don't like long nails. I actually know a lot of like long, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

A little bit of toenail is fine... but I agree with you. Long nails are kinda low.
