Girls can make the first move. Women can make the first move. If males cannot handle the fact that a female made the first move they are way too immature to be involved with anyway. If you lean in for a kiss in a relationship where it's obvious you both have the same feelings, and he says Whoa, what are you doing. Stop if you want. Then later if he tries to make the same move.......stop...say, Whoa buddy what the hell do you think you're doing? If you can't handle the move when I make it then let me tell you this: See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya. We are almost in the year 2008. If you're truly old fashioned none of these moves will be made by either the male or the female until there is an exchange of vows and a marriage certificate. If you aren't interested in that degree of committment then you're not as old fashioned as you're leading people to believe. Stop being so controlling.
And as far as hunting verses being hunted. It is an individual preference. And maybe in years past men were the "hunters", but since the 1970's a lot of single men like to be pursued. If women make the first move it's a major stroke to their ego. Sometimes if you wait for a man to make the first move you will be waiting forever. He could sit in front of the tv all day and not do anything if someone doesn't light a fire under him.

For several reasons: Traditional guys are the ones that approach the girl or girl's family usuall the father or some other male. Don't think girls are not making the 1st move. I know plenty are doing that. They may not be interested or busy to be bother with you. If you are interested in a girl why don't you approach her. The most bad thing can happen are: no, cuss you out, or ignore you. How is someone going to know if you are interested in them if you don't approach them. Are you a shy person. Do you feel confidence in yourself. If not, you can sharpen your skills. By reading communication, dating books, internet. Even asking people. It could be the way you look, the way you carry yourself, etc. If someone not interested in you they shouldn't pretend unless that what you want. You will be wasting your time & getting your feelings hurt.

Yes, I think that that is a very old fashioned way of thinking. Of course girls can make the first move especially if the feelings are mutual -it does not matter, he maybe shy and scared of feeling rejected and may even be waiting on you to approach him. I say to go ahead and let him know how you feel. It will save you alot of time.

it's b/c guys are sexist pigs and feel the need to go after girls who play hard to get, 'cuz it makes them feel like they had to work for it and it didnt' just come easyily. TECHNICALLy, girls are suppose to have the upper hand over this topic, but sadly it is not in play yet. sadly, if a girl makes the first move, she looks slutty and sleezy, and like she's moving too fast. and what's even more retarded, EVEN if you know the guy wants a kiss or w/e, he will be surprised that you actually kissed him, even though he knows that the feeling is mutual. its retarded, and it happened to me before, and it was mortifying! i'm friends with this guy and we were at the playground and we stood underneath a big tree and i looked at him and smiled and went in for the kiss......and he stepped back and said "whoa, what are you doing??" we both know we like each other romantically, yet it weirded him out that i tried to make the first move, it's been weeks since then and recently he's talked about kissing, key word HE recently talked about kissing. .....don't make the first move, and unless you want the guy to run away in fear , do NOT tell him how you feel. mind games suck, but it saves you alot of awkward conversations and moments.....good luck, hope i helped 8)

Men have been hunters for thousands of years. Only in the last 40 years or so have women been hunters too. I am talking about going out and working. So evolution has not caught up with the times. Most men want to hunt than to be hunted. You can do whatever you like since you are the one who will either reap the benefit or pay the price. I prefer the man to make the effort to come to me. I am worth it. Chasing a man is not my thing. Do you like to dominate? Then by all means go for it. And if he goes for it too then he is either very introverted and is relieved that you made it easy or he is a lazy s.o.b..

I don't think guys read the signs very well. In my relationship, I made the first move; I kissed my then-friend on the cheek to let him know that it would be okay for him to kiss me on the lips. He got the hint.

I think the reasoning behind this is women are worried that men will find them too aggressive, but it depends on the guy. Some will probably thank you for taking the pressure off them!

Be careful what you do or say first becuase guys don't kno how to react to things like love and a sudden kiss and stuff. Girls flow more natural with surprises such as those. My baby'a father told me he loved me first (of course I loved him already) but I waited for him to say it so I knew his true feelings before mine got hurt.
