In 1597 26 Franciscan Priests, Jesuit Laybrothers and even three children were crucified. They went to their deaths joyfully and with great courage. By 1612 their were about 500,000 Christians in Japan. By 1614 Shogun Ieyasu banished all missionaries and had Catholic churches destroyed. In the 19th century when jpriests were finally allowed back in Japan they discovered many secret Catholics. Seperated from their Church they held to their faith.

For those who do not understand, both groups lived their life as God would have them. Accepting whatever He wished for them faithfully. The question here is could we do the same in their place? Do we in our daily lives accept EVERYTHING that God asks of us?

Christianism is not a competition to see who does more or who is more faithful, can my faith compare with them?, Im not that arrogant as to compare myself with other Christians that had done outstanding things, so lets pray for those souls and for all who died in the bombings of Nagazaki.
