I've played with about 2" of snow on the ground; it's a blast! You can buy orange balls, they show up pretty good in snow. We made the rule that you can exchange the ball for a warm one each hole (keep a couple in your pocket) have fun! Try night golf sometime with globalls . . .

It doesnt matter what color the balls are, they will go down in the snow and you will never find them. Perhaps if you use a golf ball the size of a softball, and oversize clubs too, you might have more fun.
Hint: Get a Nintendo Wii for winter time fun.

Many! They play with red or orange balls. No doubt in many places in the world but one of the most famous golf tournaments is in St Moritz, Switzerland on the frozen lake where the snow has been flattened to make the "fairways".

It might be fun but even with a black ball you would probably have trouble finding it especially off drives when the ball would bury in the snow when it lands...Get it started you might find a following with the die hards..

Yes, it's been thought of. In this case, by Drambuie (the spirits maker). They have been holding the World Ice Golf Championships in Greenland since 1997.

I almost played in it one year, but it was warm and the ice sheet that makes up the "course" hadn't formed properly.

Youre million dollar Idea is a bust if it doesn't glow. If you can make the snow glow as well you may have better luck

If the snow is more than an inch deep, you would never find the ball no matter what color it is.
