I have recently bought a playstation 3, since the controllers are now powered by USB, I cannot use my guitars for guitar hero! WOE IS ME!!!!

No bother, I've learned that there is an adapter for 19.99 that I can obtain, to convert the usb into a multi tap for classical ps2 controllers. My question is, will this adaption function properly for my old GH Guitars? I dont need controllers, I need guitars, so buying it for using my old controllers isnt something I'd be interested in doing.

Has anybody tried to do this yet? Let me know!
Thanks in advance

It depends of which adapter you buy. Some adapters will only work with regular controllers. The adapter will usually say if it works with Guitar Hero controllers, so if you buy one, check to make sure it does.

You may want to think about it before you by one though. Most adapters out there do not work properly and have defects when using Guitar Hero controllers.

Some of the problems are

- Hammer-ons and pull-offs do not work at all
- You have to push select to activate Star Power
- The buttons don't light up at the bottom of the screen when you push them

If you read some of the reviews on the adapter seen here

http://www.amazon.com/Pelican-PL-6338-PS2-PS3-Adapter/dp/B000KIPE12
(look under product details)

you will see some of the problems people are having with it.

The fact that you can't use hammer-ons and pull-offs makes it really difficult to play on the hard and expert difficulties.

If you decide not to buy the adapter, you can wait until late January when standalone Guitar Hero 3 guitars will be available.
