Oh yeah, it's like a sixth sense they have. Mine always check on me when I'm upset about something.
Another cool thing, they can always tell when I'm about to get sick, normally they both sleep in various parts of the house, but when I'm about to get sick they both sleep on my bed with me and won't leave my side for a minute around the house. Within a few days, I get a cold. lol it's so weird, but kinda cool.

Mine used to try to herd me into the bedroom at 11pm, it got that bad.
Bedtime is our 10 minute 'alone' time together and he makes a point of coming soon as I go in for sleep. It used to be he'd hear the bed being got into, but he's 100% deaf now and he STILL comes trotting in when I've just gotten in, so I don't know what it is other than maybe psychic at this point. My bedtime hours vary considerably so he's not going by the clock. He's often 2 rooms away yet he still knows, even if sleeping upstairs when I get ready for bed. Weird.

Yes. All my kitties take turns comforting and it seems certain ones are more in-tuned to it than others. Just like people they pick up when you aren't feeling 100% or had a bad day or are just plain down in the dumps. One of my cats will sit with me and just sit there nearby keeping my leg or feet warm, that is her form of comfort, while another of mine 'must' be on top of me to make sure I'm getting better. He is netorious for sitting on my chest and bumping my head with his face and nose till I have to laugh. And the last one known to cheer me up has an approach all his own. He attacks me. Yes, nothing like an attacking kitten to keep your mind off the blues. He'll nibble on my toes or fingers if I keep ignoring him and swat playfully at me till I turn my attention his way. They are great and yeah they also know when I'm home alone and scared cause they'll come sleep on the bed with me so I'm not so alone anymore. Love my 6 furballs.

Your not alone! many animals sense that there people are stressing!
mine does and although he's not a cuddley cat will come up and snuggle for a few minutes, my mom's cat does too, or she will start getting into things on Mom's dresser to get Mother's mind off things till Mom scolds her (:-) she is so funny! but when Mother takes her afternoon nap she is right there with her in the recliner! cuddled up close and snuggly!
Mine however, for the most part will lay down beside me and purr for awhile! then he takes off!
They know more than you think and most people give them credit for.
ENJOY your friend!

My cats always know when i'm ill or feeling down.Cats have a sixth sense. They drive me mad by not leaving me alone, but it is also comforting.I use to work in a Nursing Home, that had a cat. Each time a resident was about to pass away, the cat would sleep in at the bottom of their bed.

When I was sick a couple of weeks ago my cat would not leave me alone she followed me everywhere (more than usual) and laid right on my chest and had to have one of her paws on my face. My son was sick with the flu this week and she even laid on the couch with him which normally she will not do cause he is 3 and kinda rowdy with her. I think they just know and try to help us feel better.

yes my cat knows when Im upset or sick. Not long ago I was not feeling well laying in bed and laying on my right side and she got up in the bed came over to my face and touched her nose to mine and then layed as close as she could get to me. She did the same to my husband one time when he had hurt his back. she laid with him all day long. we love our cat.

Yes, animals have an instinct for this. I have also, seen dogs and cats know when a person going to die. It does seem strange, but, I just assume it a normal thing for animals.

All my cats have been like that. They also seem to know the minute I open a magazine or newspaper and promptly sprawl across it making it impossible to read.

I think all our pets can sense this.
Even if I'm watching TV and thinking about one of the cats, sure enough they show up to see what I'm doing.
