LIsa,
Many may not agree, but I will shed my wisdom, personal though it may be.
I am a 29 yr old man, and 21 is just too young for me to risk! Think about when you were 21, what your values, morals, objective and goals where...how much you and them have changed since. You aren't the same person.......well, they will most likely change radically too, which makes a long term relationship very hard. The fact that they will change so much, don't yet know who and what they are or want, and lack stability in life (financial, emotional etc). Makes it very hard
but that is just my 2 cents. dating is fine, but long term is an uphill battle

Well, a 21 year old guy is probably in a VERY different part of his life than a 29 year old woman, "even if mature." Although this is very person-specific.
The best gauge is "half your age plus seven." That is, you can date someone who is half your age, plus seven years.
29/2 = 14.5 + 7 = 21.5 So it's right on the borderline. Remember MOST 21 year old guys are still busting at the seams with sexual energy, don't have any desire to settle down, and have little concept of what "future" really means. MANY 30 year old women are ready to nest, have done their "experimenting" and want comfort and stability (although not always). If you're both different from the norm, and if you're both understanding of each other's status, then by all means go for it. The one final caution is that the 29 year old woman probably knows herself very well; the 21 year old guy does not. Expect the guy to change A LOT in the next 4-5 years, while the 29 year old woman's personality is largely formed.

I am convinced that age is not a problem (at least as far as legalities are concerned). But you have to way the situation. The reason men go for younger women is because, often women of similar age are already spoken for...because even older men bagged them in a similar manner. Also, some men like to present trophies...hence younger girls.
But for you, you have an opportunity to showcase a boy trophy. enjoy that thought. On a more serious note, though, if he seems that is dedicated to you, then by all means he isn't too young for you. Just don't be surprised if he is all that ready to settle down or act all committed or anything. Just bear that in mind.

Yes, if he is mature and he is what you want in a mate for a relationship then it is great. If not, then it not going to work out.
