If he hasn't had a court date yet, he would not get out on parole, but he could get out on bail, thus putting up a guarantee that he would show up for court. Depends on the severity of the crime(s) charged, prior offenses, flight risk, resources, etc.

Someone can get out on Parole based on their crime and whether or not the judge agrees to it. Parole is when someone gets out of jail early. He will most likely be on probation too, which is when someone will check up on him. Depending on the crime will also depend on how often he will need to check-in with the officer. It can range from daily to weekly to montly. Under these conditions he won't be able to leave the state without notifying them.

What difference does a court date make? Parole is granted by a board of people, who usually convene at the prison the person in question is in carcerated in. They meet, with that person present, and he/she must answer questions and have his/her prison record reviewed and then the board will make their decision. The Courts (generally) have no part in parole once the subject is in prison.
