Honey the only person who is going to take care of you is you. Make yourself happy you've earned it. The family will come around. Look at it this way your Grandson will have a great place to vacation.

Follow your heart, m'am, if deep in your heart you feel that going away is the best thing you can do to improve your life, to feel more happy, do so. It doesn't matter your relatives are against you, they are not living in your skin, they can love you, but only you are the one who knows what's the best for yourself, you know better what your needs at this moment in your life are. Don't pay attention to the adjectives they will use to make you feel guilty, crazy, bad etc., nothing of that is true, sometimes when a member of a family has such a big change in her life, the others feel threatened by the change, and react against the member of the family who's leaving. This is common. You know who you are, maybe they will understand later. As your grandson, he has his own life ahead of him, you got to live yours. You can visit him, your daughter can take him to visit you and maybe the boy could stay with you a few weeks a year: it's not the end of the world, it's the south only, lol, there are many planes going there.
Follow your heart,lady, good luck ! .

Sounds like you have a lot of physical things happening at once.....if you needed a change of environment it is your choice and you shouldn't feel bad about having done it. The problems you are describing won't go away just because you are living someplace else though.

you are not happy there and needs a change...you need to take care of yourself now...you are not in the best shape, and i know it must be hard but it's not fair of them to not even let you explain the reasons...they might not understand but you do whatever is right for you, you have only one life to live and you have to be happy!

Your not wrong. You have to do what is right for you. When you send xmas cards out, write a note about why you did what you did. Just let them know that it was not a easy decision for you. Then invite them to visit.

if moving south is better for your health, you did the right thing. you aren't the first parent, child or grandparent that has moved farther from your family. they'll get over it in time and they'll understand why you did it.
