What is the best way to wrap store bought meat to keep it from getting freezerburn??? Should I rewrap it in freezer paper, or is there something else that would be better?? How long can you keep it before it starts to go bad? We have one of those sealer machines that sucks the air out, but I have yet to try it for the freezer--it was a cheap one and doesn't work all the time.

This is how I wrap mine, and it's been working out really well. Portion up your meat, then wrap in wax paper (of freezer paper), then wrap in a square of tin foil. Sock all those hunks of meat in a ziplock freezer bag, and as you're closing it, squish all the air out. (Or in your case, try using your sealer.) I usually buy burger in bulk, and this way I can grab one pound out of the freezer when needed. I haven't had a problem with freezer burn yet.

Every type of meat has a different period of time that it will keep well. Chicken about 6 months, the red meats up to a year. Your freezer should be at 0 degrees F or slightly below.

Your vacuum sealer should have a freezer bag, test the seal first. They work very well for the freezer, and are your best choice by far.

You may use freezer paper or heavy alum foil over the store package.

Here is a chart for suggested storage times in both fridge and freezer along with suggested wrapping illustration:
