This Should not be a problem. I have met Women in the Coast Guard with this Diagnosis. As long as you can still be available for duty aboard a ship and have no real disqualifying medical conditions. The Recruiter is not a medical professional and Coast Guard recruiters are the hardest when it comes to getting into the service. (I literally has to keep hunting mine down and keep on his tail to get me in.)

In all don't worry about it and don't bring it up until you talk to an actual Dr. at MEPS and then it should not be a problem.

Good Luck! (Sorry I'm not a woman but I figured I might be able to help.)

ONLY THE DOCTORS AT MEPS can make the call..if you lie about your medical history, you will be committing Fraudulent enlistment and be discharged with zero chance of EVER serving. There are medical standards for a REASON. Military life is VASTLY more stressful and demanding than in the civilian world, and what is not an issue for you now could become a serious one in the military.

all you can do is submit the paperwork for a waiver. Just plan on it being denied, as the CG grants almost zero waivers period. you don't HAVE to get into the military,. it is NOT a right, it is a privilege, and the military takes a VERY DIM view of people who lie and fail to show Honor and Integrity, which is exactly what you will be doing if you try and sneak in .

Alrgiht, Your recruiter has the ability to "mess" with the doctors paper work. He is able to write a letter saying that it does not effect you. My boyfriend went through the same thing and his recruiter said that he messed with the paper work and was able to get him in. Emphasize how badly you want it. Also...very important, have you taken the physical for the coast guard... if not, they ask you qquestions about your health and just answer no to all of them because then they wont have any reason to check your medical background.
If you already answered yes, you recruiter has the ability to persuade the coast guard that you rally want this and it does not effect you what so ever (even if it does... you lie)

Yep, your health records can be tweaked. I had a sports doctor give my blown-out shoulders a clean bill of health before I went to boot. Big deal, I didn't do the pullups. So I ran the mile-and-a-half faster and made the points back up.
