Yes I believe I have civil rights. I think some people are trying to take them away, though (not from atheists, but from all people). e.g. the Patriot Act.

Everyone has some civil rights in the US to some extent. Sometimes those rights are inhibited by certain situations. Some people think they have the monopoly on the rights, so they try to enforce their view of the world at the expense of the rights of others, but we can easily correct that by pointing back to the Constitution. Atheists probably meet some more obstacles because they are not the majority (like all minorities do), but we just don't let people take advantage of us. We keep reminding everyone that EVERYONE has rights. EVERYONE in this country is free. That seems to be all that's necessary so far.

All citizens have rights in the US. There are some people out there that violate the rights of others and that is why the US has a system to try to right those wrongs. Sometimes laws are passed that violate the rights of others. Sometimes it is not laws but government policies and actions that violate the rights of others. Sometimes it is discrimination by private organizations. However, thru the courts it is possible to change these wrongs. It does not matter if a person is atheist, christian, muslim, male, female, black, white, straight, or gay. There are ways to guarantee your rights.

I have all the civil rights I need. I don't need to be protected by any more useless laws (i.e. affirmative action - type laws)
I tend to live and let live. Religion doesn't bother me unless someone uses it as an excuse for a crime or tries to shove it down my throat.
I have no problems with Crosses or other symbols in a graveyard or on a war memorial.
I recognize that they only have meaning if the person looking gives them meaning.
what rights do you think we don't have? I'm curious.

Well I imagine if I went to America I'd be extended the same civil rights as any foreigner. If there was a problem, I guess I'd find an Australian Embassy and see if they could help me out.

We have legal civil rights. What we don't have is social rights. We cannot stop people from judging us as inferior because we don't share their beliefs. Only time and education will change that.
