Poor little fellow.... and I completely empathise with your predicament. However, when I was undergoing my medical training, I know what it is like taking bloods from children. It can be very tricky especially if the child is scared, and anxiety levels are heightened. Under such circumstances it would be imperative that the bloods were labelled correctly. You should contact the practitioner who requested the blood tests and explain the situation to him/her. I would then write to the hospital managers stating your concerns and the inconvenience that has been caused. However, your story is not an isolated incident and although I have great sympathy for you it is a very difficult task for even an experienced practitioner.

I don't blame you for being mad: I would be too, if they took that much blood from my kid and then decided they wanted more!

Go to a different hospital, and write a letter of complain to the first one's board of directors. Consider sending a copy to various other medical boards, and keep one for your own files. Do you have records of the tests supposedly done? You might want to attach those too.

Good luck, Honey!

what kind of blood tests, and why do they need so much? I would make a huge complaint to a higher up in that department, poor little one should NOT have to go through that again, especially because of their incompetence!!!! you are right to be upset, it is going to cause additional emotional trauma to you and the little one and its not fair, make sure they make it right somehow
