America has been a vocal advocate of democracy throughout its history and has played a large role in the adoption of democracy by many countries all around the world. However, democracy is a form of government that is pagan in origin, (ancient Greeks). The bible only advocates theocracy and monarchy. Why would a country that is supposedly "Christian", such as America, be so active in spreading this pagan ideology everywhere?

I do not actually advocate giving up democracy. Sorry, if my question seemed to indicate that.

So, where did you get the idea that the U.S. is a "christian" nation?

Have you read the Constitution?

Have you read the writings of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and other Founders who worked very hard - against all odds - to keep the christians out of the process of drawing up the Bill of Rights and Constitution?

Probably not.....so, here's a couple for ya...the U.S. is a diverse nation with many cultures, many religions, and people no religions at all.... There is NOTHING in either document referring to any religion at all, not even christians.

Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting "Jesus Christ," so that it would read "A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination.

-Thomas Jefferson, Autobiography, in reference to the Virginia Act for Religious Freedom

-------and-------

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State.

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Danbury Baptist Association, CT., Jan. 1, 1802

--------and--------

The whole history of these books [the Gospels] is so defective and doubtful that it seems vain to attempt minute enquiry into it: and such tricks have been played with their text, and with the texts of other books relating to them, that we have a right, from that cause, to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine. In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, January 24, 1814

--------and--------

Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814

--------and---------

And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors.

-Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823

I could go on, but you can find it yourself, if you are truly interested.

I can't accept your assertion that the bible only advocates theocracy and monarchy. Samuel was very reluctant to annoint a king.
Paul was very political and, I think, saw Christianity as an alternative to the Roman empire whilst writing his main books and emphasized that everyone was equal before God including woman who were excluded in Greek democracy.
I don't like the way the US goes about spreading democracy but that is another issue.

Most humans are of Pagan origins..If you aren't Jewish. Tolerance and love are advocated by the Bible. Do you think you further democracy by being intolerant? Can democracy survive a world where we hate each other? If we can't learn to embrace each others differences, democracy is doomed.

Pagan Ideology Indeed,
America wasn't even open for business when Jesus died, and yet they are blamed for everything that happen's on earth.
Why?
I have a problem with people who try and pass their idea's off as the actual word of Jesus or God,
I just wonder what Jesus Say's every time a simple minded born again,
say these magic words,
"Don't you know that Jesus died on the cross for us"?
as thought it was our fault,?
Let me explain what happened as i know it to be.
Jesus died on the cross, yes!
he knew he would die on the cross, Yes!
he also knew Judas would be the one to turn him in for thirty pieces of silver, Yes!
he even told him that, as a matter of fact, at the final dinner. he told one of the disciples before the rooster Crows three times you will have denied knowing him three times. Yes !
This entire part of the bible wouldn't have been printed if Judas didn't do his part. but some born again Christian is trying to make us feel bad about the way American's live, Remember not all American's live as you said,
No one from America was there.
America was born 3000 years after the fact.
we had nothing to do with his death, but the bible knows who killed him, it was Chritian or Jews at the time,
so leave us alone and get off the soap box,
we heard it all before,
save it for the end of the world ,
as im sure you would say
" it will be coming soon"
The world has heard those words for the last 3000 years. Bring it on
I am ready for it.

Since when are other religions such as secular, Muslim and Buddhism Satanic?? Please explain to me why you think they are Satanic? Do you even know what those religions believe in? And just for your information, the Muslim religion believes in very similar morals and ways to the Christian beliefs! Secular just means that they do not wish to be affiliated with a specific religion, and they are not bound by church. Buddhism is an EXTREMELY peaceful religion, more so that Christianity actually. Do your damn research before you judge others. You have actually made me extremely angry just by asking such a stupid question, and I have never gotten angry over R&S before. Because of that I would like to tell you that you are one of the many ignorant Christians that cannot think further than your own nose and are the most judgmental out of anyone, you are the type of person that causes wars over unnessecary crap!

I think its because the bible has so many versions and translations that a lot of people that follow dont know what to believe, or its because some mysterious force is controlling the masses to believe in ungodly things such as pagan rituals and masking it with christianity, fooling a lot of people. Or it could be both.

Hate to tell you this, but democracy wasn't part of the ancient pagan religions. It was part of their philosophical leanings... There's nothing remotely religious or pagan about democracy, other than the fact that it was started in a pagan society. But then, so was plumbing. Do you want to give that up too?

No, they've bastardized the original Pagan philosophy. Money is the bottom line for Christians...the more converts, the richer the church. It's all politics. I wish Christians would stay the hell out of world politics.

Because Christianity stole its identity from the Pagans.
