I had an experience which most people(especially non-religious) would call hallucinations.I am a Christian and sometime last year after a period of intensive prayer using the book of Psalms,I had the most incredible experience.A voice spoke to me for several days (and I could speak back to it in my mind),claiming to be God and telling me about things I did not know which I later confirmed to be real and also a number of very controversial things..One of those things concerned a Christian book I own which is written by a lady who claims to be a Christian with in depth knowledge of the occult. It is a graphic, scary, and disturbing book which even made me doubt if God really had much power. But when I asked this voice about it,it said the book was rubbish and the writer did not exist.I did some research and lo and behold, the writer used a completely different name from her real name to write the book and she is considered ,even by Christians, to be a hoaxer and mentally unstable

So in effect, the name written on the book is not real plus the writer has a shady background. Not only that but several other similiar 'revelations ' were given to me about people. The voice also asked me several times to look at the sky and each time I did I would see clouds forming right before my eyes into clearly defined forms of angels but no one else could see them.I saw these images about 15 times. But this voice really spoilt it by telling me things like:hell doesn't exist and the bible is not completely true. It was a massive, booming voice with multiple echoes and it sounded completely non-human but strangely enough I wasn't afraid of it. It told me it would stop speaking to me after a given period and it stopped speaking at exactly that time.It said I had pleased him by disturbing him with my prayers and that he wanted to come down and talk to me directly and reveal to me who he truly is.I risk sounding really stupid and schizophrenic with this long winded tale but it's true.

i would say that it's true because you had a relationship with GOD and when you have a relationship with HIM u get closer and he can speak to you and you can hear HIS voice and you'll know in your heart that it was HIM

First of all, it's good that you are a Christian - how old in the Lord, I wonder?
Do I think this is real? Well, sounds pretty real to me, and I don't reckon you should be surprised, although one's first contact with the supernatural is usually something totally amazing, I have to say. Stays in the mind for ages, because supernatural things do. They leave a big impression.
But what you should be asking is 'Is this God speaking or the evil one?'. There are only two possibilities, because this is too real for you to have imagined it. Both options are real, but only God is good for you. It's called discerning of spirits and every Christian - especially in these evil days - needs to learn how to do that for himself.
St. John advises us to ... believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world (I Jn. 4:1).
How do we 'try the spirits' then, to see whether they are of God, or of the evil one? It's simple, test everything against the Word of God and also against your own spirit. What does the Word say? - and how did it FEEL or come across in your spirit? Did you get a warning, a tremour, a demur, or did your spirit rise. Do you feel uncertain, or are you confident?
Sorting out the wood from the trees on this ... Beware! you are a little taken up with details, and don't seem to see the relevant data, which is there, once you learn to spot it.
Right, you started with intensive prayer and at a good place - the Psalms. What happened, is you made contact with the supernatural (ie. the spiritual). That's normal, it happens when you read the Bible, because it's a spiritual book.
The voice spoke for several days, claiming to be God. Okay, was it God? It told you some things you did not know - ok, God and an evil spirit would know these things. It also talked about a book you had - which lady, which book?. She claims to be a Christian - but is she, or is she actually a spiritualist? They claim to be Christians, too. Where did she get her occult knowledge from? Things are getting smelly ...
This graphic, scary book made you doubt whether God had much power - hmm GET RID OF IT. This book is powerful stuff and has had a very strong effect on you. Because of its origins and its subject and because it moved you deeply and disturbed you, I have no doubt that this is the opening through which this experience happened. You have strayed into the occult without realising it, because you're a curious person.
So, the voice told you right about this woman, but that doesn't give you the 'all clear'. Interestingly, the woman was reckoned to be mentally unstable - another sign of occult involvement.
You go on to say that this voice told you that Hell doesn't exist and the Bible isn't completely true. There you have it! Test this against the Word - it's not difficult, is it? Is God going to say THAT?
So what if it did show you angels and clouds? What did the evil one show Jesus on the pinnacle of the Temple? Don't you know that spirits can do these things? Haven't you heard of the elect being almost deceived by 'signs and wonders'? (Matt. 24). Get used to it, these things are going to happen.
You've got a deceiving spirit here and you need to run. I see it's left an invitation for you to receive another 'visit' if you like. Don't go there, show it the door. You're in danger, surely you've heard enough? Don't mess with this thing. You need to deal with it straight away.
You have the authority because you are in Christ, to deal with it on your own, but, if you feel better, you might seek a mature and wise Christian who understands these things and get them to support you.
Firstly, you need to repent before the Lord of your fascination with that book and having anything to do with the occult, and burn the book, so it can't do any more damage. When you've done that and obtained forgiveness of God, you can stand up and, in Jesus' name, rebuke the spirit and tell it to go away and never come to you again. You can do it, you have the authority. Go on, flex those spiritual muscles!
This has been a learning experience for you, and next time, beware of anything to do with the occult, and watch your curiosity. Spiritual things will happen to you and you shouldn't be afraid, but like I said, learn to discern which are of God and which are of the evil one.

Hhmm...did you ask the voice questions to affirm his/His status?
Nothing is impossible in this world with God,so let's not doubt the power of the Lord. However, about the lady author you were talking about,I would think ask why would you own this book in the first place and what you are going to do about this matter.
It is not up to us to tell you whether what happened is real but through prayer that God might reveal to you the truth.
God bless ya.

It was real to you. Does it really matter what others think? But for the record, sure I believe you. I am not going to go out and tell everyone I know about it...but if you said it happened, I believe you. Here is why. You are either telling the truth that these events happened, in that case, who am I to question that? Or you are lying and your motivation is to "trick" people. Well, if that is the case...I will believe you unless you come out and say this was all a hoax...and then I will believe you no longer and will have lost nothing.

Many authors write under a pen-name. This is a long tradition in literary circles. Of course Christians would consider her mentally unstable (and where did you find that out, on some right-wing website?) she disagrees with their belief. So the best defence is to say she is crazy. Try looking at some independent non-biased book reviews or reading other books on the subject and making up your own mind.
I would like to know what "things" this voice told you and what was so "controversial."
I do not question your faith, only what is happening in your mind.
God bless.

Of course it was real.
This is quite common but most people don't talk about it because they don't want the ridicule that most religious types give people that this happens to.
Ignore the people who are telling you nonsense like demons, devils, epilepsy or mental health problems. You are fine, don't panic. They are just ignorant about what is happening to you.
The voice has not left you. Once you become open to it it never leaves. What it was telling you was real, it is not going to agree with the religious nonsense that you have heard.
It will only tell you the truth. The trick is not readjusting what it is telling you to agree with religious mythology.
Email if you have concerns.
love and blessings Don

You guessed right, it is real. Take advantage of it. I don't think it is evil... The voice from God is such a good thing, in my opinion. However, dabbing in the occult could may have a negative impact on your conversation with the all mighty. The devil is everywhere to capture your thoughts and actions. Be careful.

i have heard of this happening under several different kinds of intence consentrated condittions (meditation, prayer, fasting etc) but I don't think it was more than a hllucination although if you have changed for the better and acting for the better then what is the harm/problem/worry in the experience, as long as you don't have delussions of grandure

Could be. But then, you really don't know who the voice came from. Get rid of all such books that are not of God.
Unless you are doing research for apologetics purposes, what need is there for a book on the occult?

I think the voice in your mind was you telling you what you already know. Notice the voice told you that the author didn't exist, yet clearly they did, but just used a different name.

Just be careful that it is not the enemy trying to get in your good graces to lead you astray.
If this "voice" does or says anything contrary to the God's word.. Send it away.
