I want to put a 10x4 rug in my hallway but I remember from previous experiences they usually curl up on the ends. What's a good solution to prevent that?

Yowsa: So this rug pad is better than just getting the rug tape?

There is a kind of tape you can use. Your carpet supplier should be able to sell that to you as well, or direct you to someone who can.

I watched Haley's Hints on PBS and he had a great idea.
Take a self adhesive floor tile you can purchase at any home store. Cut off a corner, peel off the backing and stick it to the corners of the area rug. This will keep them from curling up.

You can also find these sticky pads at some local stores. Look at any of these if you are in an area that has them. Linens & Things; Bed, Bath & Beyond; World Market; plus carpet stores. I've seen these pads in all of these places.

Yes. You just need the right underlay. Get one with a double-sided adhesive that you trim to size and then peel off a plastic backing to apply to your rug.:
