I bought a 13 lb turkey for Thanksgiving and it fed about 10 people and we did have some left over to make a casserole....so I would suggest getting a turkey that weighs anywhere from 16 lb to about a 20 lb turkey...
it is better to get a bigger turkey and have left overs than to get a smaller turkey and not have enough..

One you have decided on the type of turkey you want to buy,you can figure on 1 pound of turkey per person. If the turkey is prestuffed, allow 1-1/4 pounds per person. This will provide generous servings with enough left over for second day dishes.

Cook two 12-14 lb. turkeys. Meat will be juicier and tenderer than some massive toddler-sized bird.

I read not long ago that it is best to buy two turkeys instead of one for large get together.
Check with your local meat market. Many will do the roasting for you.

tOTALLY AGREE THAT YOU SHOULD GET TWO 10-12 POUNDERS AND PREPARE THEM WELL MUCH JUICER THAT A N ARTIFICIALLY STEROID FED 24 POUNDER AND WILL FIT IN THE OVEN.

I agree with previous responders - buy two smaller turkeys 12-14 pounds - for the same reasons.
Also - can you imagine how long it would take to cook one giant bird?!?!?
