Jennifer-

Don't let people here upset you. You and I both know that 100.6 is not serious in a toddler. Still, I would call the doctor--little bodies tend to dehydrate quickly. My kids would never drink Pedialyte; I gave them Gatorade instead. Also, ginger ale is really good for nausea and vomiting. You're a good mom and it's probably nothing serious. All the same, have him seen. It will ease your mind.

From my experience being a mother of three.....(note: not a medical professional) A fever of more than 105 for a long period of time requires medical attention in children. The best advice the doctors ever gave me was that you can give children Tylenol and Ibuprofen at the same time to break really high fevers. Then administer them at the times designated on the bottle.

Most of the time children eat when they know they are hungry....whether it makes them vomit or not. As long as he is drinking and staying hydrated he should be just fine. Try feeding him soup broth....with some crackers....

A doctor once told me the importance of a fever. There are certain enzymes in the body that work better against illness when the body tempurature is elevated. And that if the person is warm but not miserable, it is best to just let it be.

Once again- I'm not a medical professional. I encourage you take your son to the doctor if you have any doubt. At the least you should call your doctor and let him/her know what's going on. It's always better to be safe then sorry. If you take him there, be sure to ask questions. Get informed. It will help you in the future!

I asked a similar question last night...My daughter kept telling me her head hurt(she is 6) I gave her some tylenol and sent her to bed and two minutes later she was in the bathroom throwing up. She had her flu shot and her and my two year old shared a root beer yesterday and my son didn't get sick. And this morning she woke up and felt fine. No fever or vomitting. So, 100.6 isn't an outrageous temp. I think 102 is when they want you to bring them in if it doesn't go down with tylenol or a cool bath. Trust me, from my own experince, it sounds like a tummy bug that if you take him in they will just tell you to let it run its course. Just lots of fluids and possibly crackers or bread to help his tummy.

no need for a doc.
If his temp goes over 102.5, then go to the doc. Or maybe just call to get an okay to give them tylenol.
It's great that you can get him to drink. That is keeping him hydrated and somewhat healthy.
If his vomitting last more than 48 hours, you want to bring him to the doc regardless.
My son had a 104.7 fever twice in fact and the doc said he was fine and to only give him tylenol. Now he's a healthy quite brilliant 4 year old.

That temp. is not really all that high. The body will tell you what it needs if you listen, sometimes. Sound like he has a virus,
and his body is trying to expel it. His body is saying no food or nothing until it's out. 90% of headaches are from stomach disorders. Fever is a sign of infection, the body heats up to expel the toxins inside. Give him plenty of liquids to help cleanse out his system, cool towels to bring down the fever. I wouldn't think of a doctor unless the temp gets up to 103 and you can't control it.

Call his doctor but none of that is extremely worrisome. The fever is low, not eating isnt too much of a problem as long as he is drinking. How is he behaving? Thats what needs paid atention to right now. If he is lethargic or just not acting well, then yes make an appointment. If he is acting normally then just call for advice.

the doctor will tell you that he should not come in unless he has a fever of 103 but make sure he drinks lots of water. Give him some tylenol if this is still going on after 24 hours than I would take himto the doctors.

100.6 is not a high temp. Give him some Tylenol. If he is throwing up. keep the liquids coming water, pedilite or Gatorade will keep him hydrated. absolutely no milk, when a child has a fever, it will curdle in his stomach. Don't make him eat but if he is hungry keep it light, chicken noodle soup, crackers.

no, just make sure he drinks plenty of fluids so he doesn't become dehydrated and make sure he is peeing regularly if he isn't peeing take him to the doctor because he might be dehydrated. 100.6 isn't that high of a fever, they will usually tell you to bring them in if the fever is 103.0 or higher. you can give him Tylenol to help with the fever.

Call the doctor. His temp isnt alarmingly high and as long as he is staying hydrated he will most likely get over this little bug in a day or two. Watch him for signs of a fever spike or dehyration.
