Most recipes are just fine to simply delete them. Adding marshmallows or candy pieces can work too. (toffee candy pieces have a better feel for a nut substitute)

there are some things that I can't stand nuts in but there are some dishes that just would not be the same without them...
however since your daughter is allergic, I would just leave them out. It will not ruin the recipe....most of the recipes now have the word optional beside the nuts unless the nuts are one of the main ingredients...
I'm not much for dried fruit myself but I do love raisins....you could try raisins if she likes them.....would give it a unique flavor..
coconut and oatmeal are good fillers for cookies.....you could try those chips you can find like toffee chips....unless it would totally ruin the recipe.....
otherwise just leave them out

You may want to check with a nutritionist or local health food store to see what their customers do when their kids are allergic to nuts. They may suggest a better substitution for this.
Also it is not the end of the world for there are so many different kinds of cookies that do not have nuts and are just as festive and healthy.

You do not have to substitue. Most items such as nuts and fruits can be just omitted. If you really want to substitute try some chips (chocolate chips, butterscotch chips,,etc). Also you can safely take and chop (in a blender/food processor) and hard candy she likes to replace the nuts...

tbird, go to a health food store the should have soy nuts, or go to soy nut.com , they have a complete listing of all the flavors they make. and since the are made from soy beans for the vegetarians they should be fine for a child with allergies. sorry you have this problem , maybe some day some one will find way to avoid this problem. good luck and happy baking, bacondebaker.

I'd say skip the nuts. But you could look for a soy nut or sunflower seeds.

Nuts are seldom an essential ingredient. It is just fine to leave them out.
