actually, it's a sin to have sex standing up, because it might lead to dancing.

Most churches that have such restricts started them in the early 1900's, when "Dance Parlors" where very popular. Most of them were actually fronts for prostitues. So the original taboo was on visiting such places.
With the style of dance that emerged since then, which often includes sexual suggestive moves, body contact, etc;, the "ban" has continued. Watch something like "Dancing with the Stars" and notice how often they get high scores because their dances are "hot".
If you read the Bible, there are several positive statements about dancing before the Lord as a form of worship. So not ALL dancing is prohibited. Only that which is intended to raise sexual desires - for unmarried couples. (Fine for husbands and wives.)

Because John Calvin decided that joy was not something a Christian should feel. They should be weighed down by the burden of their sinfulness and be expending their lives on making up for that sinfulness.
Obviously Calvin didn't think much of Jesus' abilities along the lines of salvation from sin.

You do not state what kind of dancing, there is dancing in the spirit, & then there is a worldly dance, The worldly dance is caused by a demonic beat that causes people to move with it.

Do you mean some secular dance such as Hip Hop??
Some Christians say that secular music and other stuff do not glorify God, and just sing hymns...
Well, I'd say do not feel guilty because I consider those strict rules on food and music are of cult...
After all, any dancing is not sin at all unless it's extremely offensive...

Probably because it looks like people having sex with their clothes on (that bumping and grinding crap.)
You don't have to be religious to see why dancing like that is considered a sin. It's obviously immoral.

Because King David, who was a man after God's own heart danced naked before the LORD and before his slave girls that prude Christian woman today don't like to see repeated in any way shape or form... BTW, King David's wife who complained about King David's dancing was punished with NO MORE SEX until she died of old age!

Can't say I've heard of that! But "dancing" now a days really isn't dancing. It's more like grinding. Which is like sex, with clothes on. So that's probably why.

Probably because the pagans would dance at celebrations for their gods. Puritans banned a lot of things that were common in paganism simply because they didn't want Christianity to be related to it at all. But they failed, because we still have Christmas.

In some religion nothing is sin. If your conscience is pure.
No act in this universe is sin, except your motives.
