Not only that but they want to put them to death for it??? I can't even comprehend how America has gone thru such tragedies as 911 and there are constant plots from terrorist groups and they still are sucking up to those infidels. Beats me!

No. But that is not the worst that happened, the same religion also wanted to sentence a person to death for leaving the religion.

That being said, what has that got to do with Palestine? I agree that the religion of Islam is repugnant to me, but how should that affect my judgment of what is right or wrong?

Palestinian, regardless of their religion, are people who deserve to be treated with respect and have their own country. I do not support Palestinian terrorist organizations and the heinous crimes they commit in Israel, but that does not mean that I believe that Palestinians should be denied the right to self determination.

EDIT:

For those saying that it was the fault of a government and not a religion, I have a news flash. Islam is a way of life, there is no concept of separation of church and state in that religion. The law of the land is Sharia law and therefore any action taken by the state is decreed by the religion.

For example, when the government of Afghanistan tried a person for leaving Islam (with a death penalty being the outcome of a guilty victim) they where applying the Islamic Sharia ruling on apostasy etc.

When religion IS the government
When religion is the law.
It IS religion that arrests people.
In Islamic countries such as Saudi and Sudan and Iran, etc, religion IS everything.
Do NOT allow your country to be governed by religion.
Do NOT allow Shariah law to have ANY input into your way of life.
You will be very sorry if you do.
Americans! Do NOT vote for Mitt Romney! Get rid of Son-of-a-Bush as soon as possible.
Secular government IS the only logical option.
The same applies to education.
Be VERY careful and watch those muslims, as they really DO want to take over your country by whatever means, usually involving explosives.

Christians did this, too. Please don't pretend that Christians never instituted blasphemy laws.

This is a symptom of most religions. They really don't like anything bad said about themselves. Even today, you can get ostracized in the US media by making any disparaging remarks about Christianity or Judaism. In this forum, even, you'll get reported by religious people who think it is rude to criticize their beliefs.

Some examples:
Chapter 272 of the Massachusetts General Laws states,

Section 36. Whoever willfully blasphemes the holy name of God by denying, cursing or contumeliously reproaching God, His creation, government or final judging of the world, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching or exposing to contempt and ridicule, the holy word of God contained in the holy scriptures shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and may also be bound to good behavior.

An 1879 codification of Maryland statutes prohibited blasphemy:

Art. 72, sec. 189. If any person, by writing or speaking, shall blaspheme or curse God, or shall write or utter any profane words of and concerning our Saviour, Jesus Christ, or of and concerning the Trinity, or any of the persons thereof, he shall, on conviction, be fined not more than one hundred dollars, or imprisoned not more than six months, or both fined and imprisoned as aforesaid, at the discretion of the court.

The muslim religion is strict with regards to mocking its god Ala.
You will recall the book that got the author to be on a hit list, for his writing a few years back.
Where as here at home, we are so pc, we are afraid to offend others, but bash religion, christianity like no tomrrow, and see athiests drag everything to court for fun, and its open season.
As for the palestinians, and Isrealies, they both claim its is their land, and if you read the bible you will know who the true landlord is..in regard to them.
