Where is the scientific evidence that Jesus is the Christ? What archaeological proof is there that He rose from the dead three days after He died on the cross? Where is Mt. Sinai? or Noah's ark? or the proof that Moses parted the Red Sea? Did you know that Moses wrote that bats are birds and that rabbits chew their cud? Or that the earth is flat and the sky is round, like a dome over it? There is a lot more evidence for the Book of Mormon than you want to see or admit. And there has never been any DNA testing done specifically to prove or disprove anything about the Book of Mormon. In fact, all those who think they have disproven the Book of Mormon thru DNA research, all they are really proven is that Joseph Smith was wrong in his SUPPOSITION that the Jews were the PRINCIPLE ancestors of the native AmerIndians, and proven right those Book of Mormon scholars who have determined thru study of the Book of Mormon that the Jaredites and the Lehites were NOT the ONLY peoples of the western hemisphere during the Book of Mormon times.

The only thing I will add that I didn't see already listed is that I have read a book called the Personal Writings of Joseph Smith. Believe me, his personal writings are not anywhere near the same style or sophistication that the Book of Mormon text contains. Joseph did not write that book out of his own fertile brain imaginations. The Book of Mormon could not have existed except from revelation or inspiration from God. The gifts of the Holy Ghost were upon Joseph making it possible to verbalize the contents of the characters found on the plates.
Do I believe he actually had some plates with writings on them? Of course I do. We have the testimony of eleven men who actually saw the plates and the characters thereon. We have the witness of two scholars from New York that saw the character samples copied from the plates stating that they were indeed true characters. We have the witness of at least two women who assisted with the translation work and know the source of Joseph's work.
We also have the defacto witness of Joseph's enemies that tried every conceivable machination to get the plates away from Joseph. Why would they go to so much trouble if they did not believe that he actually had something to steal? The very fact that they were willing to resort to violence to steal the plates from Joseph testifies that they knew he had them.
In addition to all of that logic, yes, I have read the book and put it to the test contained in Moroni 10:3-5. It is true, the Holy Ghost has manifested it to me.
Amen

Yes it does satisfy my reason. I take almost everything I learned in school to be true even without observing the research first hand. I can see the fruits of the theories, and I can see that they work. So it is with the Book of Mormon, not only do I look at the fruits of it, but I have also prayed and received a witness through the Holy Ghost that it is true.

The Book of Mormon, God, Jesus rising from the dead, or some other miracluous things found in the bible, Book of Mormon, or other scripture is based on faith. I can't prove that God created the world, but I believe he had a hand in it.
Somethings can't be proven by reason or proof.
Do you love your family....can you prove it?
Let's take the love for your family and put in a test tube and see it. Can't be done.

I haven't seen Jesus personally, but that does not stop be from believing in him. It is a matter of faith. I have prayed to God about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and have received a witness from the Holy Ghost that it is God's word.
Christ is mentioned some 3,000 times in the Book of Mormon. It is all about Christ. Anyone who reads, studies, and sincerely prays about it will get that same message of its truthfulness from the Holy ghost.

The Book of Mormon's veracity hinges on what the reader feels when praying about it. Forget the archaeological evidence of lack thereof, forget writing styles, forget everything else. Towards the end of the book, Moroni instructs the reader to ask sincerely whether the book is true or not, and then says to listen for the Spirit. I used to be Mormon, but when I had some experiences that made me realize that sadly the feelings were not the Spirit but rather my own emotions, I left the church. That said, I cannot judge others' experiences- this is between them and God.

Have never seen the originals of the Bible, either, but I still believe it to be the word of God. Why should the Book of Mormon be any different?

Seeing is not believing. Millions believe the bible without having seen the original documents it was translated from.
I believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God based on it's doctrine, not because of how it came to be acquired, translated or published.

Great answers have already been given. In my opinion, I don't know that I would believe that much more than I already do If Moroni were to appear and show me the plates himself.
Miracles happen everyday and we explain them away or forget them. The impression of the Holy Ghost is much deeper than that, and much harder to forget than seeing something with your eyes. That's partially why Christ said, "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." -Matt 12:31
Best Wishes,
