schools should stick to the basics, reading, math, history, science, etc... its not their place to promote religion, humanism or any other world view.

Are you sure you'd want the government to decide what you are thinking and what things you are taught and especially of what things you should have no knowledge of?
I think it is best to teach children (if not everyone) the essence of various beliefs. You teach teenagers about Zeus and the other Greek gods, don't you? Yet no one is afraid that they will believe the stuff and start worshipping those gods.
The same way a public school should teach what Christianism is about, hinduism, islam, buddhism and yeah, also humanism and Darwinism.
It is not the task of the government to decide which belief is real, and which God you should worship. It is the freedom of each citizen to decide this. The task of the government in schooling is to make it possible for citizens to make a proper decision. This can only be done if no information is held back. So no, humanism should not be removed from public schools.

No. Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.
Humanism is exactly what the world needs.

It should be removed because our Country was founded on the Bible or rather the Bible founded this Country. When people are letting things such as humanism, buddism, any such pagan worship it should be thrown out. When people reject God the people perish. Do you see how society is right now? When you see the people of Israel going to a false pagan type worship in the Bible what happens to them? Have you read the Bible? What has happened to those in the Bible who worship such things? Read the Bible & also it would be helpful to get a concordance if you have problems w/words to help you understand & make God Word come more alive w/meaning! Please do not put your trust in man but rather God He is the Creator. Gen. 1:1
