Why are religious people always playing the "Holier-than-thou" card?

Telling us how to live doesn't make people want to follow your belief system. And threatening us with eternal damnation and God's wrath and all that other stuff...well, threats are what terrorists use against us.

So, why be a terrorist when you can just let people choose to live their lives on a path to Hell or not.

The path to Hell was paved with good intentions from Lucifer while God watched and waited. Shouldn't we just wait and see what happens?

Well most religious people are phonies, they really are. They believe deep inside that by recruiting they will go to heaven and god will accept them because they got some people to be like them.

There are a few that are ok, but like I said very few. See usually a person that is too religious is like that because they have a fear of something, what they call it a monkey on there back.

I have a co worker like that he even sings in choir and hes a prick, but I know what he does hes a prick all week and then he says sorry to god on the church and then everything is forgotten.

Well is not because you are supposed to learn from your mistakes, not keep making the same one.

I don't believe in some of the things religion does to people, but I do believe that is important because it can be used as a tool to learn about god, but once you learn what you need to know and you have a basic understanding of who god is and what he is about then you don't need to go to church on sunday.

The people that have to go to church they are going for one reason and that because they are full of sin and they know it, because they feel that have to prove it to god and god can see you at your house, at your job everywhere you go.

Heh, probably because spirituality would allow for freedom, and we can’t have that in a church, now can we? It’s hard to control people when they have their own beliefs. Best to tell them that you know the way and that you’ll guide them, then let them follow you around like lost puppies.

And yeah, the money. TONS of money to be made in religion. Spirituality is too natural and

Organized religion is just another form of terrorism. It’s evil.

In my opinion, spirituality is awesomeness all around and everyone should have their own personal beliefs regarding it. Religion? Not so much…

Honestly, most people don’t even know there’s a difference.

I agree a wee bit. My partner (who used to be devotely Christian until he met me) tells me that he believes that God wants us to live our own lives as long as we are good people and can feel comfortable in ourselves that we are good.

He also said that spirituality (like because Psychic and stuff) is like a gateway for demons to enter your life. I don't quite agree with that because there has to be reasons why people can see things that other people can't and most people that are highly spiritual do a lot of good and then you get some that are just freaky but again, it's all about good and bad.

Woops, he's just told me now that as long as you are a believer in God and lead a good life you can be good.

I've just gone and confused myself now, I'm on a struggle between religion and spirituality too, so I hope your question actually answers mine too.

You know, religion means so many things. I am not sure which definition you are referring to.

I agree that living with the expressions of the spirit is more important than religion, but I mean that how I mean that. Another person, especially another Christian can take that to mean that there is no Christ in my words. Yet I don't mean it that way.

So either word can be misinterpreted, there is even a chance that I am misinterpreting you.

Truth found through Christ and believed in brings on spirituality. Without that, religion and spirituality means nothing eternal.

Bottomline, non-profit religions are a business.

That's why some religions like Islam and European Catholicism (both are monopolies) are into the convert or die business - they both want all the collection money in the world and competitors are to be converted or taken out so to speak.

Both want 100% domination over all persons on earth so all the cash goes either to Mecca, Saudi Arabia or Rome, Italy.

It reinforces delusional thinking by using putting them "out of sight, out of innovations." i've got continually needed i ought to turn that characteristic off, in my opinion. If for no longer something better than so i ought to work out if somebody edited their answer later, probable to describe their answer extra useful.

Not Sure. I have a feeling they are more interested in a set of rules rather than lifestyle. Spirituality ought to be a lifestyle and not a regid set of rules.
