Apart from university accomodation...

You'll find that Adelaide in South Australia is relatively cheap to live in, even in the centre of the city. There are three universities, Flinders (which is away from the city), University of South Australia (in the city), and Adelaide University. The latter one is in the 'top eight' of Australian universities. In Adelaide, it is cheap to eat, low crime, good bars, nice arts scene, clean, and great for food and dining. It is easy to get around if you live in the city, you can walk to most places.

I'd suggest looking up 'top eight Australian universities' and I think there is also a 'good universities guide' that you can look up.

Good luck!

I was unaware that universities had star ratings. Accommodation around universities depends on where the university is. Some universities have residential colleges - International House at Sydney University for instance - but most students (who don't live at home) live in houses or flats nearby, often sharing with others. Tuition fees vary from university to university and course to course.

Your best bet would be to go to the websites of the universities themselves and see what they offer in the way of accommodation and what their fees are. There is a list of Australian universities here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_universities_in_Australia

The top three universities are the Australian National University in Canberra, The University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne
