because it is something that is hard to understand. I went years with ADHD, but always was on weird meds.
you have to give it time.
people told me as well to just be organized.
I think you are more than capable of creating your own organization methods without being Dependant on meds

Firstly, who diagnosed you? Should have been your family doctor who, then, would have sent you to a Psychologist. The Psych. should have a DSM IV available to her and from this be able to decide which is the best plan for you to follow. You will, of course, have to develop A Plan which works for you and as you give no information regarding the areas most troubling to you, it is difficult to assess. Perhaps what you are doing during the day doesn't lend itself to being something, easily, organized. There's a big difference between being a stay-at-home mom and a working mom as far as time is metered. I would go to my primary care MD and start from there - should be some self-help groups available.

The sad truth is that very few mental health "professionals" have a clue what they're really doing. Please don't misunderstand me. There are absolutely fantastic counsellors, psychologists and psychiatrists out there... unfortunately they just happen to be in the minority. Get away from the ones who don't understand... keep looking for the ones who do. In the meanwhile, see if there is any thing you can do for yourself. Honestly, just having the courage to get away and try and find ones who do understand IS something you are doing for yourself. But this is the opposite of a vicious circle, because when you start doing this, you'll begin to find that there are other things you can do for yourself. I wish you all the best.

Organization is a life skill that you can learn to apply. However it is not one that is taught in any formal way.
I'm not sure that I could be the one to teach you how to be more organized, as I am fairly disorganized myself.
What you will need to do is to see if you can do this by yourself. Designate or allocate places for all your things and learn to put your various things in their proper place. Go through this sort of sorting procedure regularly.
Another approach is to see if there is someone who does Neurolinguistic Programming or Hypnosis in your area. An NLP practitioner or a Hypnotist, traditional or Ericksonian could be helpful.

Hmm, is it lack of organization from procrastination? Usually a counselor can help you with that.
