I know that we can not be racist but how come we always have to put out our customs behind others.

People of other cultures come to Australia, they choose to. If they are not Christian, we can not stop our Christmas celebrations, or make it ‘low key’ just because they are here.

Why do we have to do this?

Yes, as Christians we respect others, but when do we get to actually celebrate being Christian? If it is always seen as being racist then aren’t they accusing us of the same thing they are doing to us-not letting us celebrate our religion?

Well, multiculturalism is a nice gesture but it isn't wrong to be Christian and sometimes people are prejudiced against Christians.

Christianity is not racist. It has nothing to do with races. It is a religion. Actually, christianity is growing least in the white nations. In america it is holding its own. In europe it is dead. It is growing like wildfire in asia, africa and south america and in other parts of the 3rd world where the 'so-called' minority races live. Actually, if you really understand christianity you will see that christians cannot truly be racists. As a christian, I do not believe in the concept of races. There is only one race, the human race. If you are a christian, you believe that we all came from Adam and Eve. The christian view also agrees with science. They've done studies that have shown that, physically, there is almost no difference between the 'so-called' races. Even the skin color is the same. If you take a dead black man and a dead white man and peal the skin off of them you will see that the skin is the same color. What gives the skin color is a chemical just below the skin called melanin. Blacks look darker because they have more of that chemical than browns, who have more than whites. But the actual skin color is the same.
The concept of races came from Darwinism. The complete title of Darwin's most famous work, often abbreviated to The Origin of Species, was The Origin. of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. Darwin wrote: "I could not have believed how wide was the difference between savage and civilized man; it is greater than between a wild and domesticated animal . . . Viewing such a man, one can hardly make oneself believe that they are fellow creatures and inhabitants of the same world." Darwin also said " 'At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world". Who are the civilized races? The white races. Who are the savage races? All the other races. Darwin may have personally had sympathy for those savage races but he still believed that they had no right to exist in his 'survival of the fittest world.

just curious, and this is a serious question,

what celebrations do you want to do, that you socially are not allowed to do, because of people of other groups?

I don't think much of anyone really objects to people having their own private celebrations... I mean where you are do people really object if you have christmas decorations and whatnot at your own house and such?

I don't think much of anyone really objects to churches having nativity scenes on their lawn or private homes having christmas lights...

is it truly an important part of the religious aspect of christmas to have huge materialistic gaudy displays in PUBLIC places?

aside from public schools, nobody has to dumb down their religion.

businesses do this because it's ggod for business. if you consider a store making it policy to not say "merry christmas" as "not letting us celebrate" then you are full of yourself.

buy stock in that store and vote on the board of directors. otherwise it's not your business.

no one is stopping anyone from worshipping a dead guy. don't boo-hoo because the entire world doesn't revolve around your silly superstition.

you want to celebrate your god? that's what church is for.

Yes they are but do what I do. Brush it off my shoulders and I never cower down to serve God and respect Christmas.
