People in India and China either kill their daughters in the womb or soon after they are born since they are too fixated on male child. Many other who don’t kill, keep having more and more children till they get a male child and then the daughters grow up as unwanted and neglected children. I know a dirty call… but what is worse of the two???

They have laws and incentives in India too. Yet I hear there are many towns and villeges which don't have a single girl child of their own and there are clans that didn't let a girl child survice in last 400 or more years

To answer Rana and Tinkiwinky, when they kill their own daughters, they buy sex slaves from poor neighboring countries of Nepal and Bangladesh. Tinki: I wish it was all BS but sadly it is not: Check this link

In a perfect world, this question would be unnecessary. Although I am pro-life, to bring an unwanted child is worse than an abortion. At least the child will never know it wasn't planned. God forgive me.

What you are talking about is a long time ago!! Times have changed, its just a misconception. I'm Indian girl now living in China to study! So I know what I'm talking about. What you are talking about happened a decade ago and probably happens in tribal areas or villages where people are still backward. (But as always there's a darker side of every country!)
If what you are saying is true then there should be an explanation to why the female population is greater than the male population in India??
(or)
Why people in China are really happy with the "ONE CHILD" rule ? ( oh by the way did you know that? A Chinese couple is allowed to have only one child and his/her education is free up to high school.(except the Muslims - they can have two) Surprisingly Chinese think its the best law ever passed !! If they want a second child they have to take care of his/her education by themselves.)
You might not believe if I say that in China more than 75% of the earning population is female!!
It is really sad to know that such parents still exist. But I for one believe that in such changing times we should not be left behind. The world is soo BIG out there.. SOMEONE would want you or think that you are important! You carve your own niche.
Such things will make the younger generation more aware and obviously better than their parent generation. We can pray for a better future...

That is not our problem... just because we disagree with murder, doesn't mean it is our responsibility to care for someone else's mistakes. Murder is not the solution. The guilt should not be placed on us! That is what you're doing with this question. You are saying that because we disagree with murder, WE should be responsible for finding an alternative. NOT TRUE! Would I accept a child into my life if I knew he/she was being mistreated or unwanted? Without a doubt! The problem really with the unwanted children scenario is the government and agencies that have those children stuck in the middle. If adoptive parents had more protection and better assistance, and face less costs... there would be many more adopted kids and less in foster homes. But because the government and agencies make it nearly impossible to adopt becuase of costs and hurdles along the way... the poor children are stuck in the middle.

Raised unwanted is worse. Not that I care for either option. But have the people in those countries considered the consequences of a huge male to female imbalance? Eventually there will be many men what seek but cannot find wives. That should produce big time problems. Civilizations have declined from such as that.

that's odd how that tribe is still around with no women,,, huh? Well anyway, I think they should not do what they do, if their country is so over populoated that they HAVE to have males to get any jobs that may be available, there needs to be some sort of country wide sterilization program, for any men who think it is SO important to have a male, don't they remember that they are married to GIRLS too? I would never kill a baby for being the wrong gender, and I doubt there would be ANY reason I would do it, but especialy not for somethig so shallow. I am going to laugh in a few decades when China and India has to turn to other countries for girls because they don't have any to marry their precious son's off too, then girls will be in demand again, in a sick way it is like how america is obsessed with dog breed popularity. It disgusts me how humans are the way they are, in no other species do you find so much killing of other creatures human or other wise for NO REASON, and yes, I am aware that both dolpkins and chimpanzees both kill other's of their kind for no reason, but not to the holocaustic masses we do it!

Gee, that's a really tough question, i honestly don't know what i think is worse. They are both just as bad as each other. But I'm leaning towards an unwanted neglected child, because they would probably die of malnourishment anyway, so they would probably be better off not being born at all, horrible to say, but it's the truth.

Hard question because of the culture differences. But I do want to correct you. In china they actually have a law that says you can only have one child. Because of this law little girls are killed because they want boys. Killing a child in the womb is not cool, but growing up unwanted leads to serial killers. Either way I have no say on what goes on in china so how can we change this?

It's a no win situation....its just a sad situation in certain parts of the world where women have no voice! If a girl survives the struggle she should aim to get out and be the somebody that God made her to be!

I believe times are changing now.... females no longer want to marry the first born sons because they know they have the burden of the parents. instead they opt for younger sons so they dont have the responsibility of caring for the parents
