AT THE AGE OF 4!?

Cathy no one saying she's made up, the fundie there was just ranting like always. I was just wondering if it seemed strange to you as I can't believe a child at the age of 7 (let alone 4!) could understand what sex even is, no matter what day and age was.

St. Catherine's family agreed with you, as most people would, and tried to talk her out of it. However, her devotion to the Lord was so strong, nobody could sway her to give it up, even a little.

Had she not been so obviously a saint, one would naturally conclude that she as a lunatic. Such is the way of the world.

No when you lived to be 50 and were married by 14 someone who is 7 would be the modern day equivilent of a 21 year old.

Catherine of Sienna stated that herself, why would she make it up. Of course she is an extreme example, even one of only 33 Doctors of the Church so don;t take her piety as the norm, even among canonized saints (she only lived 33 years though).

EDIT: Made up? Hmmmm. Catherine of Sienna lived in the 14th century there was plenty of history written about her, including her own writings (she wrote prolifically, hence why she was named one of the Doctors of the Church) and she served historically as an Ambassador (so there is writings on her outside the Church) and her head is still in Sienna. I would suggest you actually know what your talking about. you know there are alot of things to criticize about the Church and it's beliefs and histories that are a bit wacky, Why do you guys always try to do with the ones that are true.

Study abit.

Why? at that age she was a virgin and vowed to remain so.

Maybe kids in former times were more mature than most adults today.

What do you mean? If you tell kids you found a condom in the veranda, they would ask what a veranda is...

No, that's what they believe in and the environment they live in. They live a very sheltered life and wouldn't know any different.
