Heres the deal, last year after Christmas, we found a cute Christmas dress that I knew what fit my baby girl this Christmas and it was only $5 so we bought it, we have 2 older children and we could not find any Christmas outfits on clearance, money is really tight this year, and I was only able to buy the older children each a Christmas sweatshirt, I want to get a Christmas picture of all 3 of them together, but I am afraid it will look tacky since one will be wearing a dress and the other 2 will be wearing sweatshirts, do you think it would look alright or do you think people will think the little one is getting special treatment when they see the picture? Please no rude comments, if I could afford 2 more dress outfits I would buy them, and the picture is only going to cost $3.99.

Nope NOT tacky! I have had one child dressed up and the others casual- for the same reason I found a really cute outfit on craigslist for 50 cents BEAUTIFUL dress but couldn't find anything to fit the other kids. I thought the pictures looked good still. Others told me they did too- then again they were my friends/family memebers they can be too nice sometimes. lol

Older ones usually hate to dress up & everyone knows it so no. You can't really dress down a little one for christmas. All the outfits are designed on the dressy side. If it's appropriate for church then it's appropriate for a Christmas picture! Don't let others views ruin your holiday! You can make it a fun photo too so you don't have to worry about it! You can use fake snow (the kind that looks like pillow filling) and surround them for cheap too so no one can tell they are not dressed up. You could put a snowman or small tree in the picture & have the older ones peak around the sides with the little one in the front. Be creative. Have fun with it.
Hope this helps.

it might look tacky if the other 2 were wearing jeans and white t-shirts,or something, but Christmas sweatshirts should be fine. As long as they all fit a Christmas theme, i think it would be alright. Maybe the older kids could get dressy clothes next year, but for this year, just go with what you have. Afterall, you want a picture of your KIDS, not their clothes. My sister and i never got fancy clothes when we were younger, but it didn't cheapen the memories, and the priceless memories are what really matter.

Yes, I think it would be a big mistake to dress up only one of the children. Who cares what other people think, the older children might feel less loved, and it could hurt them deeply.
Here's a suggestion. Use some money you have set aside for food or other bills, and buy the other two children something nice to wear. There are good sales in some of the better stores. Believe it or not, sometimes JC Penney, or Sears, or Gottschalks, etc, have lower prices than Wal*Mart...and the quality of the clothes is so much better. Afterward, if you don't have enough food, go to a couple of local churches foodbanks, and ask for help in feeding your family just this once. My church gives food baskets every Tuesday, and free clothes. Many other churches do the same, but the day may be different. Just look in the phone book, in the yellow pages, and call them and ask. They are always happy to help.

I think that it might look a little weird. I mean, all dress outfits would be cute, and all sweatshirts would be cute too. I would find a nice, more casual outfit for the little one, and let her wear the dress to a family gathering, or at Chritmas dinner to make her feel special. If it was only five dollars, then you shouldn't feel obligated to use it for something like pictures. I really don't see why she needs to wear the dress for the Christmas cards.

Awww, I think it would be cute to have the little one dressed in a dress! The older children don't have to be in dresses to look nice, as long as they are clean and combed and not wearing rags, lol, I think it will be fine. In fact, I believe we have a few pics in our family, where the youngest is the only one wearing a dress, because everyone older refused to wear a dress! :)

It relies upon on if the babies are yours and how long you have been with the boyfriend. in case you have been with the boyfriend greater effective than, say, a twelve months, and additionally you're enormously beneficial this is the only for you, then particular to the boyfriend in the image. If this is the boyfriend's babies, it form of feels to quickly to have that lots information at as quickly as on a Christmas card. Like "howdy, this is my new relatives!" yet while they are your babies, you wager! attempt to no longer put in the context of a "relatives" portrait however. till you already condsider yourselves a relatives, this is. i'm hoping that facilitates. i'm purely thinking of no longer putting your self in the situation to ought to respond to unpredictable questions which will tie your tongue.

It may not look tacky, but it will look like one kid is your favorite. If you are not against it, I suggest checking out your local thrift store. I love a good bargain and usually can sift through and find good items. You just clean them and they are as good as new. You probably would not pay more than 5 or 10 bucks for a whole outfit.

Maybe you could dress up the sweat shirts with a dress shirt underneath with the collar sticking out or a turtle neck and some dress pants. I'm sure they already have those things in their closet.
