If you do, has he answered every single one your prayers? If not, how does he decide which ones to answer and which ones not to? And, how can you be certain that the thing you prayed for wouldn't have happened anyway without your prayer?

"Your confusion is embedded"
I am not confused about anything. If I ask people to tell me of their own personal experience, does that make me confused? I think not.

He answers the prayers you need more than the others and he gives you only what you need. Nobody really knows what they really want or need God gives what you need everyday and people don't even realize it. It's like a story I heard it goes something like this: An analogy by Robin Williams,
This is one of the best explanations
of why God allows pain and suffering
that I have seen. It's an explanation
other people will understand.
A man went to a barbershop to have
his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work,
They talked about so many things
and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on
the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe that God exists.'
'Why do you say that?'
asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in
the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists,
would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who
would allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't
want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long,
stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard.
He looked dirty and un-kept.
The customer turned back and entered
the barber shop again and he said
to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'
'How can you say that?'
asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!'
'No!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no
people with dirty long hair
and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside.'
'Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people
do not come to me.'
'Exactly!'-
affirmed the customer.
'That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people
don't go to Him
and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain
and suffering in the world.'
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!
'Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.'
Hope you like this analogy as much as I do because it tells the truth.

YES! I believe God answers my prayer. Yes God has answered every single one. God does not have to decide which ones to answer and which ones not to, because as I have just stated, God answers them all. The answer to some is Yes, The answer to others is No. The answer to many is Wait.
I can be certain that whatever I pray for could or could not have occurred with or without my praying, because it is not my petitioning that constitutes prayer in the first place.
Prayer is the sincere desire of the heart, spoken or unspoken. Prayer is direct conversation between you and God. Therefore anytime you pray, it is conversation, not shopping.
I read your response and I agree with you I apologize for my assumption. You did only ask for my response and I misunderstood the motive for your asking. Please forgive my oversight.

Yes God has answered my prayers, every single one of them. I keep a journal to keep track and found that in some way or another all of my prayers have been answered, not all of them with a yes but an answer none the less. The answers to my prayers have been too consistent for anything else to explain. The evidence for me is some of the choices did not look smart and i would not have made them without God's influence and the choice i would have made ended up being terribly bad at some point in the future, but I listed to God and was spared.

I have had several very astonishing answers to prayers throughout my life.
Sometimes, I don't hear a 'voice,' but a thought that I know that does not originate from me comes into my mind.
Sometimes--what I have asked for just happens or is given to me.
Sometimes what I have asked for doesn't happen, and I realize later that it was the wrong thing to ask for.
Once, the answer to a particularly serious matter was shown to me in a dream, as plain as day. THat was a true miracle--I won't ever forget that one.
Ask, and ye shall receive.

that's an excellent question. only think of the indians worshiped a God. not sure yet possibly the sunlight or something. besides possibly God solutions prayers for persons whether they are right into a different style of religion because of the fact he loves us that plenty. most of the time whilst human beings pray they want something fairly undesirable and God is conscious that and solutions the prayer regardless of the guy religious determination. that's what i think of a God that loves his creation unconditionally would do.

Hi Trina!
I believe God answers prayers. But He has His own way of anwering your question(s).
The following is God's way of answering your questions:
1. YES. If God find it good for you and you are fit to receive what you are asking for and your faith is strong, then, He definitely will say YES.
2. WAIT. If you are worth to receive what you are asking for and yet you have to purify yourself, then you have to do something first before it will be given to you. That doing something could be strenghting your faith, cleansing your heart, reconciling with someone, developing patience, more humility, etc., etc. Once that something is done, then God will give what you are asking for.
3. NO. GOD will definitely say NO when what you are asking for, if given, will do no good to you or even will bring you far away from him. For instance, you are asking for $1,000,000. If giving you 1M would make you hard headed, unfaithful, untouchable, too-high-to reach, don't believe God anymore, etc, etc., then I beleive a certain NO would be an answer.
Remember, God knows the condition of your heart even before you say your prayer and He also know what you need and what is right for you.

Again I have to jump back to little catholic altar boy concept of praying, no he didn't seem to answer my prayers, but I could have been praying for the wrong things.
Today my notion of spirituality is not involved with asking for anything more than guidance, and not necessarily to anything or anyone recognizable as "God"... I still struggle with the word "Praying" = ORGANIZED RELIGION wish list.

I'm probably going to sound like a total preacher or just an idiot, but i'm going to say this anyway. It may interest you or make you laugh. Whatever you think, read my story.
When i was...ooh, about seven or eight, my dad rented a horror movie. He didn't let me watch it, of course, and he didn't talk about it in front of me, but my brother told me about it excitedly anyway. It was awful. I fell into the deep, dark pit of fear. It was probably the worst time in my life. I was too scared to go into a room by myself, i always had to have the light on-and I literally couldn't sleep at night. So my dad let me sleep in his room.
One day, he got tired of the whole thing. He told me i had to learn how to be brave, and that nothing was going to hurt me. I was terrified, though, and when it was night, i sat on my bed and cried and cried quietly. When I reached ultimate despair, i decided to pray. I had learnt about a certain god (I'm hindu) who was supposed to get rid of all obstacles. So i prayed to him. I can still remember it, years later. I just prayed so hard.
And you know what? From that day on, i have never been scared of that movie again-and i've never had a nightmare. I've never gotten scared to that point again.
Call that whatever you want, but i'll always call it an answer.
Whenever i pray urgently and i'm in trouble, i get an answer. If i pray for something pointless-something i don't need, i always manage to realise that i don't need whatever it was.
So yes, i believe god answers my prayers. It's happened just way too many times to be a sheer coincidence.

Yes. God is Listening. Prayers is always answered. The only thing is not to ask prayer from other than the one and only God, or any of the 'associates'. Leave them behind. Please try once, you will notice.

I don't understand the prayer thing, people tell me to ask for God's will before I take an important decision, but when I do I get nothing, so finally the deadline arrives and I have to decide. Then a couple days after, bang! wrong door honey! I hate that. If my prayers were answered, there's usually a catch and I don't like that too.
