I wouldn't necessarily say that the Lord really prefers one over another, but I personally prefer traditional music. As a child, I absolutely loved the classical music that was played at church. As an adult who now works with the church music, I'm still using classical music and the old, traditional hymns.

I am a singer and an instrumentalist- and I can tell you that the style of music SHOULD have nothing to do with preference. Granted there are some songs from both styles that I love and some I don't like as well, but the moment that I start saying, "I do not like this song" do you know what happens- I stop worshiping. Because God does not care if we are singing HOW GREAT THOU ART- or EVERLASTING GOD- as long as our hearts are focusing on the worship, not the music.

I prefer traditional.
I don't think the Lord minds either way - Church music is meant for the worshipers.

I prefer traditional, in church at least. It's odd to go to a cathedral and hear a rock band playing inside before communion.
But no, God doesn't care as long as it's a "joyful noise."

It depends on the individual songs for me as to which I like personally, however I will sing both and not complain because it is not about me but God. All that God commands is a joyful noise and that we use our talents to worship him so the style of music does not matter it is what the music is directed at that matters.

Traditional, by far. I think that the Lord likes them equally.

A little of both is good , but the heavy metal or rock is out.Music is meant to calm the soul and praise the Lord , it brings glory to God .

My one vice: I am a 40 yo woman that loves heavy metal.
Church music--hymns and contemporary--I make myself listen to it b/c I know it's good for me.
I actually like hymns better, between the two.
