Which is grammatically correct, or are they just different styles? I've been out of school too long and can't for the life of me remember, and I don't know where to look something like this up online.

In old school traditional grammar "If I weren't" is correct. However, "if I wasn't" has been in popular use for so long that it is considered standard English by most in the field.

They're both correct and interchangeable. But usually "if I wasn't" uses "was" as in something you are doing, for example "if I wasn't eating this sandwich..."

"If I weren't" is used more in the sense of a theoretical possibility, where "were" reffers to the speaker actually being something, as in "if I weren't so fat..." In the positive: "If I were you." You don't usually write "if I was you." But you can, of course, because neither is wrong.

Also, the way these are used probably depends on where you live!

Weren't is used in formal writing or speaking -- wasn't is used more when having casual conversations =)

this is tricky grammar. " if i weren't " is a unreal conditional phrase, which means what you have said is not ture. just go look up the rules.
