why i ask is i only want answers from those of you who dont believe their sexuality is from God but also believe God truelly loves them and finds comfort in worshipping in church.
why do i ask? i have a nephews who are homosexuals and both believe it was a choice although too deep-seated for them to want to change.(they are in their 20's) however though they both believe in God, one cannot bear going to church because he knows that the "lifestyle he chooses is not pleasing to God". (please understand this is my nephews opinion even though i agree with him). The other will go to church if he felt like it. What can i say to my loved ones for them to understand God loves them more so because we are sinners, even more reason to go to church and publicly confess Jesus love for us?
appreciate any help...i guess its fruitless to ask homophobics to refrain from answering....thanking you

Tuberoot: thnx 4 addressing my full question but im not really clear as to your advice. you imply you are not a regular church-goer yourself. "so has the Christian church treated us"? excuse the ignorance but how? i have not seen any discrimination of homosexuals in my church - never even heard the word "homosexual" or "bi-sexual" in church that i can recall (im 43) and ive been regular church-goer since my mid 20's. i can guarantee you you will not encounter homophobic preaching in my church or any catholic church.
i do thank you for sharing your view though. God bless you.

I am a Bisexual Christian. I am 47.
lol
There is so much that I have already written on this subject that I find it difficult to find a place to start!
The Bible is clear that we are sinners, all of us people, homosexual, bisexual, straight, gay, transsexual, whatever - we are all sinners in way or the other, not because we sin, but because we are sinners - the nature of sin is in us. Sometimes the sin nature manifests in birth defects, other times stillborn, other times sexual persuasion. Sometimes it does not manifest as any of those things. But it's still there whether visible or not.
As to your nephews, if they are trusting God through Jesus Christ they are as saved as any of us. As I went through life after becoming a Christian over 20 years ago, I struggled with my sexual persuasion. I am still attacked for saying so, even recently. So church is not wonderful for me either. But I stay in the word and talk to God every day, claiming the promises of God and listening to preachers online. So has the Christian church treated us.
So with God, I know I have peace. Sexually I am rather dormant. Spiritually I am ever growing, God deals with me personally. And so after growing in the Lord for these years of trusting Him my sexual lifestyle has become less important, and my serving Him remains prime in my life.
So your main question is rather simple to deal with; like so much else in the way I am, I am seeing the manifestation of sin struggling against the Spirit of God and His nature. As I trust God everyday the struggle is less unsettling, and the Spirit of God directs me towards His will. I become less important, and God becomes more important.
Please, be patient with your nephews, show them what I said, but most of all tell them that trusting God through Jesus Christ will be the blessing that it is for all those who do it.
I hope that helped you to understand.

If they claim to be Christian and are gay then you should know there that they are not true Christians. However if they do truly love the word of God then they already know that Christ said of sin and the remission of it " Go forth and sin no more." That means they would have to change their lifestyle. No matter how much they hate to change it. Being a Christian isn't about what you can get away with, its about the Love that God has for us all and being obedient to his will. Hope this helps.
Not homophobic by the way, I know that it happens. just because I disagree with it doesn't classify me as Homophobic.

Homosexuality is a choice. You have to repent (turn away from) ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart.
Homosexual and bisexual "Christians" is an oxymoron. That's like saying homosexual priest. You can't be both.

You know, there are alot of self righteous christians that give the rest of us a bad name.
Do I believe ppl are born gay... no.
Even though, in the old testament, God condemned a city of people for being gay, christians seem to forget the coming of Christ... He died so that all of us have the promise of salvation... not just straight people!
My cousin is gay, but because he has faith in God (which is the ONLY way to get into heaven) I know that he will go to heaven.
Remember ... All Have Sinned and Fall Short of the Glory of God

Response to V:
That verse only is really referring to a situation in which adultery has been committed, as we can tell by how it says "as with a woman". A gay person would not lay with a woman.

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
This verse in Leviticus ch 20 clearly states God's opinion on Homosexuality. "They shall Surely be put to death"

Where in the bible does it say it's a sin to be gay. I'm not talking about drilling a guy, I mean just identifying as a homosexual? I feel sorry for "the anomaly" going on about your life making you self think that Satan is making him gay, what a sad life he must live.
